Description

HANGERS The invention relates to hangers and has particular but not exclusive relevance to hangers to display floor mats e.g. for automobiles. The hangers according to the invention have been designed with the intention of providing a product different from those found on the market.

A hanger is known with which automotive floor mats are displayed for sale, formed by a plate with an upper hook and, below, having U-shaped ends whereby the mat can be hung.

A new solution has now been arrived at for the member attaching the mat to the hanger, which holds it in a simple but far more secure manner.

The present invention provides a hanger comprising a body portion, means on the body portion for suspending the hanger from a support, a pair of lugs spaced lengthwise of the body portion and depending from the body portion and having apertures therein each for receiving a respective pin transverse to said spacing direction, for each aperture a respective pin having head and a shank, and a plurality of retaining means each adapted to engage on the shank of a respective pin.

The annexed drawings illustrate a preferrred embodiment of the invention.

Figure 1 provides a perspective view of the subject hanger; Figure 2 is a side view of same; and Figure 3 is a front view.

As illustrated in the above figures, an illustrative example of a hanger according to the present invention comprises a small rectangular plate 1 of plastics material provided at the upper side with a hook 2 and having, at the lower side, endmost vertical lugs 3 with openings 4 where threaded or ribbed pins 5 provided on buttons 6 are applied, such pins passing through holes provided at the edges of the rubber mats for automobiles and receiving a nut or lock ring 7 thereon.

Such buttons advantageously replace the known clamps because, even when holding a full set of mats, they are firm and offer the utmost safety in terms of preventing the mats from possibly falling.

Claims

1. A hanger comprising a body portion, means on the body portion for suspending the hanger from a support, a pair of lugs spaced lengthwise of the body portion and depending from the body portion and having apertures therein each for receiving a respective pin transverse to said spacing direction, for each aperture a respective pin having head and a shank, and a plurality of retaining means each adapted to engage on the shank of a respective pin.

2. A hanger as claimed in Claim 1, wherein each shank is provided with annular ribs or a thread.

3. A hanger as claimed in Claim 2, wherein said retaining means are each a nut or lock ring.

4. A hanger substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

"HANGER", comprised by a small rectangular plate of plastic material provided at the upper side with a hook (2), characterized in that the said plate has, at the lower side, endmost vertical lugs (3) with openings (4) where threaded pins (5) provided on buttons (6) are applied, such pins passing through holes provided at the edges of the rubber mats and receiving a nut or lock ring (7) thereon.
