Abstract
A ring (1), which is carried on the body of a person is provided with a neon bulb (5), a resistor (6) and an electric conductor (4) which are electrically connected to one another through wiring material (7). Electrostatic charge can be discharged from the wearer of the ring (1) safely, without the wearer feeling any electric shock. The neon bulb (5) enables the wearer to establish discharge of static electricity. <IMAGE>
Description
Title of the Invention
A ring to eliminate static electricity
Abstract of the Disclosure
The present invention relates to a ring, which is always carried on body and is provided with a neon bulb, a resistor, an electric conductor, etc. for the purpose of eliminating the electrostatic charge. By the use of such ring, it is possible to eliminate the electrostatic charge easily -and safely from human body without feeling electric shock. It is also possible to visually confirm the process of such elimination through the light on neon bulb.
Background of the Invention
Under the environmental conditions where the air is dried, high static electricity is usually generated on human body by the friction of cloths, footwear, etc. In such case, if the earthed object such as door, automobile, metal furniture, etc. is touched with hand, finger or other parts of the human-body, the static electricity is discharged, issuing the discharge current and giving the electric shock with pain to human body.
The conventional means to eliminate the electric shock is to hold an electric conductor, such as a metal key, and to touch the earthed object with this conductor.
In the conventional method to eliminate electric shock to human body as described above, the electric conductor to be placed between human body and the earthed object is not always easy to find, and it is sometimes troublesome and annoying to find an adequate conductor for the purpose.
Even when such conductor is carried in the pocket of the clothing, it has to be taken out of the pocket and to be returned after it is used for the elimination of static electricity.
Summary of the Invention
The object of the present -invention is to provide the means to solve the #problem for eliminating static electricity on human body by the use of a ring, which is always carried on body. This makes it possible to eliminate electric shock on human body in easy and safe manner.
The problems as mentioned above can be solved by a ring to eliminate static electricity. Such ring is made of a conductive material and is composed of a container body where a neon bulb and a resistor are accommodated. An electric conductor is furnished at the top of said container body so that said finger ring, said neon bulb, said resistor and said conductor are electrically connected with each other.
Brief Description of the Drawing
The drawing shows a front view of an embodiment of a ring to eliminate static electricity according to the present - invention.
Detailed Description of the Embodiments
Further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, which shows a front view of an embodiment of a ring to eliminate static electricity according to the present invention. (1) is a finger ring and is made of conductive material such as metal or conductive resin. It-is to be put on a finger.
A container body (3) is attached to the finger ring (1), and an electric conductor (4) made of metal or conductive resin is mounted at the top of the container body (3).
A neon bulb (5) to be lit up at electric discharge and a resistor (6) to limit excessive current are accommodated in the container body (3). Finger ring (1), neon bulb (5), resistor (6) and electric- conductor (4) are electrically connected with each other through wiring materials (7) In case the container body (3) is made of transparent material (colored or not colored) such as transparent resin, transparent glass, etc., the discharge luminance of the neon bulb (5) can be visually confirmed. Thus, the discharge and the elimination of static electricity can be confirmed through the luminance and, then, through the vanishing of the luminance. The elegance and pleasure can be added for visual confirmation if the container body (3) is made in the shape of a doll or an animal and if the neon bulb is placed to the position corresponding to the eye of such doll, animal, etc.
The finger ring (1) may be provided with a notch (2) so that the finger ring (1) can be firmly attached to the finger, irrespective of the size of the finger, by adjusting the gap of the notch (2). The finger ring to eliminate static electricity based on the invention may be manufactured with different diameters so that the ring can fit the finger of any person.
By touching the earthed object such-as door, automobile, metal furniture, etc. with the electric conductor of the ring for the elimination of static electricity based on the present invention, the static electricity generated on human body can be discharged to the earthed object, whereby the current is limited by the resistor and the neon bulb is lit up. The static electricity generated on human body is thus discharged safely and indirectly through the ring based on the invention with the current limited by the resistor. The electric shock with pain to human body at the discharge is thus completely eliminated.
Even when human body is charged with the electricity of more than 10,000 V, it can be discharged by tapping the earthed object with the electric conductor of the ring for 2 or 3 times, selecting thereby a resistor of about 10 MQ. The discharge is conducted within extremely short time without feeling electric shock, and it is confirmed by the luminance of the neon bulb. The static electricity is discharged to such degree that no shock is felt when the earthed object is directly touched by human body.
The ring to eliminate static electricity according to the present invention is always carried on the finger, and it can be used promptly and very easily for the elimination of static electricity without accompanying the troublesome and annoying actions in the conventional method, where an adequate conductor to touch the earthed object has to be sought and returned after the use.
