Abstract

An undersea tunnel and bridge is described.

Description

SPECIFICATION Undersea tunnel and bridge Sealink expressway channel crossings. Twin train tunnels with platform on one side of each - escalators at mile intervals for supply of air, also maintance and escape routes for passengers. Thirty-one miles from Cheriton to Sangatte Six lanes motorway with verges both sides, centre crashbarriers. With also crashbarriers each side of bridge only for protection of lightweight concrete bridge windbreakers. Safety rails to bridge.
Bridge structure is only four lanes with two verges one each side of bridge load bearing piers. Double cable suspension each side of bridge. New reinforcement technics of use of neckties for pier construction 3.1. Aircraft warning lights to mount pier tops Arc lights to one side of shipping lanes.
Incoming and seagoing lanes Marker buoys for control of shipping each side of shipping lanes and bridge openings placed five miles or over either side transmitting morse signals dot and dash - red and green lights starboard and port, protected by floating concrete crash barriers.
English and French roads and twin tunnels built as one with all necessary services provided service roads to internal crossing areas for maintance, exits of passengers in cases of emergence. Motorway road construction to join services roads with customs and charge services - French side converts both left and right hand driving styles. National breakdown to give crossing services.
Cable and wireless to supply all the telephone services required Patent multi purpose lightweight shuttering with the use of dual staging for working platforms - internal lightweight tube shuttering in three types with seals. In removable sections secret act control Details of drawings. Lightweight shuttering.

Solid steel insert bar with centre stop 2 mts scaffold pipe size front and end views 5. Front view new scaffold clips 6. Back view double slotted tenons lock into two shutters - six per shutter in verticai positions 7. Side view with hinge and bolt H.T. Steel 8. Lock insert for lifting purposes. Threaded.
9. Safety housing 10. Hexegon nut to lock all solid.
11. Steel frame side and edge views.
12. Exploded view 13. Housing plate bored for threaded bolt.
14. Hexegon threaded nut 15. Steel pegs side view. End view 16. Tusk tenons side view. End view.
16. Tusk tenons top view square shoulder for steel peg locking 17. Three C.M.S marine resin bond plywood shutter facings multi bolted to steel frames.
18. Shutters side positions with two runs scaffold poles and scaffold clips all shutters have two bolt holes and top and bottom-corners internal and external steel 19. Shutter end view - all shutters are reversible.
Vehicles and passengers, private, business heavy goods, drivers with loads public service transport international. Railway dual tunnels steel lined for prevention of sabotage Trains normal diesel passengers and freight full maintance on completion of all work electric overhead track train and freight speed in tunnels to suit British Rail and French time tables.
Motorway speed 70 miles per hour on both approaches to bridge. Bridge speed 50 miles per hour. Weather conditions to govern all speeds to police rules scale model constructed to guide all persons requiring knowldege of sea link expressway channel crossings.
