Description

SPECIFICATION A combination of a belt buckle and a lighter The present invention relates to a combination of a belt buckle and a lighter.
Cheap matches have been widely replaced by finely crafted and compact lighters, but the lighters, no matter what type and appearance they take, have a common disadvantage of inconvenience when carried.
Owing to the size and weight of a common lighter, it causes a sense of heaviness and inconvenience when received in a trouser pocket, and its also not easy for a user to take it out therefrom.
One kind of lighter is provided with a pouch to prevent it's surface from being scratched by coins or other articles when received in a trouser pocket, which pouch can be attached to a belt. This approach has its merit but is still short of perfection; for example, the attached pouch with a lighter received therein can either cause discomfort when sitting down or is in disharmony with the clothes that the user wears.
The invention provides a combination of a belt buckle and a lighter, wherein the lighter is removably secured in a recess in the buckle.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, of which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a belt buckle with a recess and a lighter removed from the recess; Figure 1A is a perspective view of the lighter; Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the lighter removably secured in the recess in the belt buckle; Figure 3A is a sectional view of the belt buckle with the lighter, taken on A-A' of Fig.
2; Figure 3-B is a sectional view, taken on B-B' of Fig. 2; and Figure 3-C is a sectional view taken on B-B', showing the belt buckle with the lighter removed therefrom.
The drawings show a belt buckle 2 equipped with a tooth-like belt-clenching mem ber 21, a belt-through opening 22 and a protruding member 24. At the front side of the buckle 2 there is disposed a recess 23 in which a lighter 3 is or can be removably se cured. The recess 23 is defined by three up standing planar walls 231, 232, 233 and an arcuate side wall 234 which is so created in order that one correspondingly-shaped side wall 31 of the lighter 3 can tightly engage thereto when located in place in the recess 23.
The lighter 3 is removably secured to the buckle 2 to create an integral and aesthetic effect. The smoothly curved recessed portions 2321 and 2341 of the side walls 232 and 234 of the recess 23 are so defined for the purpose of permitting the lighter 3 to be readily secured to and removed from the recess.
1. A combination of a belt buckle and a lighter, wherein the lighter is removably secured in a recess in the buckle.
2. A combination as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the recess has three planar walls and an arcuate wall, which walls correspond to and co-operate with the walls of the lighter so that the lighter is firmly secured in the recess.
3. A combination as claimed in Claim 2, wherein two opposed side walls have recesses to permit the lighter to be readily removed from the recess.
4. A combination of a belt buckle and a lighter substantially as herein described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
