Abstract
A clear, horizontally rolling visor screen which can be mounted on any type of safety or protective or sports headwear is also suitable to protect any viewing device from inclement weather conditions when used outdoors etc. The screen 3 is moved across the opening along a tracking 7 from a container spool 4 to a receiver spool 5 by an operator powered motor 6 controlled by switch 9. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Rollavisor
This invention relates to a clear, horizontally rolling visor screen.
Visors currently in use in all forms of sports, e.g. Motor Cycling, Motor Racing,
Speedway, Horse-racing, etc., generally appear to be unsuitable for use in inclement weather.
This is due to weather impairing vision due to rain, mud, spray, etc., fouling visor or goggles in use.
This invention is designed to remedy these faults by providing clear, adjustable, vision in these inclement conditions. It will provide a constant clear field of vision which will obviously be much safer for the users.
The aim of the design of this invention is to provide a horizontally moving clear film screen across the front of a visor, lens, or similar viewing device.
Operation required to motivate this film screen is by means of a hand operated, remote controlled, small power motor which is used to rotate a clear film screen from one spool, across the face of a visor etc. and on to a receiver spool.
These spools are located on opposite sides of the visor or face piece next to the swival pins. The clear film rolls across the face of the visor within a tracking section which is fixed to the visor or face piece.
Motive power to operate this unit may be provided from a power saurce within the vehicle, or alternatively, from a self contained battery unit on the appliance.
The film screen rolls can be cleaned and reused or renewed as required, by a simple operation similar to loading a camera film.
Reference is drawn to the details outlined on Sketch No. 1. a copy of which is enclosed with this application. Fig. D. of the sketch shows that when the control switch (Fig. 9) is switched on, the motor in receiver spool (Fig.
5) is actuated in a clockwise rotation thus drawing the clear film screen across the face of the visor in film track (Fig. 7) from out of container spool (Fig. 4). The timing of this sequence will be determined by the operator according to their visual requirements.
1. A clear horizontally rolling visor screen comprising of clear film of varying suitable widths, contained in a container spool used in conjunction with a motor powered receiver spool. Spools located as detailed on attached sketch No. 1. to provide a clear viewing screen in inclement weather conditions across any viewing aperture.
2. A clear horizontally rolling visor screen as claimed in Claim 1 wherein a tracking section for the film may be fixed to a standard visor of a Safety Helmet.
3. A clear horizontally rolling visor screen as claimed in Claim 1 adapted for use for fixing to any suitable surfaces and used in conjunction with viewing or camera equipment subjected to inclement weather conditions.
4. A clear horizontally rolling visor screen as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the basic principle can be adapted to suit other forms of safety headwear used in sports and outdoor pursuits-example Speedway, Riding, Rockclimbing etc. etc.
