Abstract

Document suspension apparatus comprising a rigid member (1) arranged to be suspended from a fixed suspension means, the member (1) having welded thereto a plurality of different sized document containers (3 and 4) to allow different sized documents to be suspended from the same member (1). The containers may be loops of plastics material forming sleeves for reception of documents. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Improvements in and relating to suspension filing systems and apparatus therefor This invention relates to suspension filing systems and apparatusthereforand particularlyto means such as envelopes, sleeves or the like for housing documents in such a filing system.
An objectofthe invention isto provide suspension means which allows a number of different types and sizes of documents to be suspended from the same suspension track.
According to the invention there is provided document suspension apparatus comprising a suspension device arranged to be suspended from a fixed suspension means, such device having welded or otherwise secured thereto, a plurality of different sized document containers to allow different sized documents to be suspended from the same suspension device.
According to a further aspect of the invention there is provided document suspension apparatuscom- prising a suspension device arranged to be suspended from a fixed suspension means, said device having a document container welded or otherwise secured thereto such as to form a sleeve for there ceipt of the documents and having welded or other- wise secured thereto at intervals throughout its length, at least one further document container of different size from said first mentioned document container such that different sized containers may be suspended from a common suspension device.
This invention will now be described by way of example only with particular reference to the accompanying informal drawing wherein: Figure lisa prospective view of a suspension filing device for accomodating files of two different sizes whilst, Figure2 is a side view of suspension filing device of Figure 1.
Referring to Figure 1, the suspension track com- prises a substantially rigid member 1 of plastics material provided with a folded portion 2 extending throughout its length to allowthe member 1 to be suspended from rails, rods or the like of a system such as described in UK PatentApplication No 2145 664 A.
Welded or otherwise secured to the member 1 is a loop 3 of plastics material, preferably transparent to allow large documents offorinstanceA1 sizetobe located with the sleeve formed by the loop 3. Within the loop 3 is located a smaller loop 4 offor instance A2 size to accommodate smaller documents. For instance large drawings may be housed within loop 2 and smaller boards within loop 3.
Instead of welding or securing all sleeves or loops to the same source iethe member 1, one ofthe loops eg 2 may be so secured and other smaller loops or sleeves may be welded or otherwise secured to the large looporsleeve2 at intevalsthroughoutits length.
It will be appreciated that the invention is capable of considerable modification and is not to be deemed limited to the particular details illustrated.
1. Document suspension apparatus comprising a suspension device arranged to be suspended from a fixed suspension means, such device having welded or otherwise secured thereto, a plurality of different sized document containers arranged to allow different sized documents to be suspended from the same suspension device.
2. Document suspension apparatus comprising a suspension device arranged to be suspended from a fixed suspension means, said device having a doc ument container welded or otherwise secured thereto such as to form a sieeve for the receipt of the documents, said document container having welded or otherwise secured thereto, at intervals throughout its length, at least one further document container of different size from said first mentioned document container such that different sized containers may be suspended from a common suspension device.
3. Document suspension apparatus as claimed in either claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the suspension device includes a suspension track comprising a substantially rigid member provided with a folded portion extending throughout its length, arranged to allow the member to be suspended from rails, rods orthe like of a document filing system.
4. Document suspension apparatus substantially as herein described, with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
