Abstract
A toy comprising a doll 8 and a skateboard 1 on which the doll 8 can be mounted, said skateboard 1 being provided with a radio-control unit 4 and having on its upper side fittings 2 for anchoring the doll 8, said fittings forming recesses into which the feet of the doll 8 are inserted, thus anchoring the doll 8 in an upright position. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
A toy comprising a doll and skateboard
This invention relates to a toy which comprises a doll and a skateboard on which the doll can be mounted.
Relevant research-work has been conducted with the idea of widening the field of the toy trade, and the range of sports-like games and pastimes that children find so absorbing, to such anextremethat theywantto aquire as many objects created forthis purpose as they can, owing to their obvious charm and recreational possibilities. The result of such research-work is the toy forming the present invention.
According to the present invention there is provided a toy comprising a doll and a skateboard on which the doll can be mounted, said skateboard being radio-controlled and having on its upper sidle fittingsforanchoring the doll, saidfittings being composed of elements forfixing the feet of the doll and attheirfront end are in the form of hollow protuberances, with each one providing a recess into which the feet of the doll can be inserted, thus achoringthedoll in an upright position.
The underside ofthe board is preferably provided with a containerforthe cells forming the supply battery; a containerforthe radio-control device, and a housing, to which the back wheels are fitted, forthe drive motor and for the corresponding gear-box, from which are driven the axles which directly drive the backwheels of the toy.
The axleforthefrontwheels isfittedto a member which is preferably cylindrical in shape, and placed inan upright position; closetothelowerendofthis, there is a diametral groove on one side, covering a sufficiently wide angle, while on the opposite side, it ends in a circular orifice, overwhich the aforementioned front axle pivots, determining the direction in which the toy should move at each moment.
When the corresponding movement is made in reverse the front axle rotates as far as the catch at the front of the angular groove or steering groove, and consequently, the unitturns tracing whole or partial circles in one direction.
An embodimentofthe invention will now be described, by way of an example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure lisa perspective ofthetoy, including all its components parts,
Figure 2 is a plan view of the underside of the skateboard, and
Figure 3is a side view ofthe aforementioned skateboard.
As can be seen from Figure 1, the upper part or board 1 of the skateboard is provided with fastening elements 2 orfittings for anchoring the feet ofthe doll 8. On the underside ofthe board lisa container 3forthe supply battery, a container4forthe ratio-control devices and a housing 5 for the drive motor and which contains the gear-box 5 as a complementary feature. A cylindrical member is provided at the front of the board 1 and this has a horizontal groove or slot 7 enabling the front wheels to rotate as far as the appropriate position so asto proceed in a straight line in the advance position and to rotate in one direction when in the reverse position. The fastening elements take the form of shoes.
1. Atoycomprising a doll and B skateboard on which the doll can be mounted, said skateboard being radio-controlled and having on its upper sidle fittingsforanchoring the doll, saidfittings being composed of elements for fixing the feet of the doll and attheirfrontend are in the form of hollow protuberances, with each one providing a recess into which the feet of the doll can be inserted, thus anchoring the doll in an upright position.
2. Atoy as claimed in claim 1, in which the underside of the skateboard is provided with a containerforthe cells forming the supply battery, containerforthe radio-control devices and a housing for the drive motor witch its gear-box, from which are driven the transmission axles which impart direct motion to the back wheels of the skateboard.
3. Atoy as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, in which the front axle is received in a fixed upright cylindrical member provided with a diametral groove near the end or lower base, on one of its sides which extends over a predetermined angle, while, on the other end, there is a circular orifice in which the aforementioned front axle pivots.
4. Atop as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, in which the radio-control device enables the skateboard to move backwardsandforwards.
5. A toy as claimed in anyone of claims 1 to 4, in which the reverse movement of the skateboard determines the rotation of the front axle or steering shaft and, consequently, the rotating movement of the entire unit, with such axle being pulled as far as the front end of the groove by the one end coinciding with the arc ofthe angular groove on the cylindrical core.
6. Atoy comprising a doll and a skateboard on which the doll can be mounted, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
