Abstract

The magnet fishing rod holder is constructed for use on modern day vehicles that do not have rain gutters on the side of the roof. Used in pairs they can be placed on any part of the roof of a car. A magnet is mounted in a wooden base and covered in baize so not to damage the roof of a car. The holder is made of stainless steel and attached to the magnetic base by means of a nut and bolt, it is lined with a protective medium to prevent damage to the fishing rods. One side of the holder is hinged and is secured with a R clip during travel. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Magnetic fishing rod holder This invention relates to a magnetic fishing rod holder.
Fishing rod holders are used extensively by fishermen fortransporting their rods on the roof of a car when moving from one fishing beat to anotherto save the dismantling of their rods. Rod holders are usually madetofit on vehicles that have rainwater gutters, but modern day vehicles do not have gutters incorporated in their construction.
With the present invention, the fishing rod holder will fit any type of car and any partofthe roofasthe base has a magnet in itsconstruction.Afterarriving at a destination the holders can easily be removed and locked in the car while the fisherman is fishing.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Astainless steel bodyAwith one side hinged to allowfishing rods to be taken in and out. Inside the framework A is a foam type lining B to hold the rods in position without damage. The hinged side is secured with an R clip. Body A is secured with a bolt through a hand carved hollow mahogany wooden base C and steel plate D. Magnet F and core G are glued insidethewooden base Cand a baizecovering Hgluedtothe bottom to preventdamagetocar roofs.
1. A magnetic fishing rod holder in the form ofa magnet in a hollow carved wooden base, whereby the fishing rod holder is attached by means of a nut and bolt. The holder being made of stainless steel to eliminate any rust problems. One side ofthe holder has a rolled hinge with a stainless steel pin, the hinged side being secured with a R clip. The inside ofthe holder being lined with a protective foam to prevent damage to the rods. The wooden base with magnet inside is covered on the bottom with a baize covering to protectthevehicle roof.
