Description

SPECIFICATION A drawer comprising double-walled drawer frames The invention relates to a drawer having doublewalled drawerframes, in particular of plastics material, and a front plate with holding members fastened to both sides thereof by means of which the front plate can be anchored to the drawer frames.
In drawers ofthe above-mentioned kind the pull-out rails ofthe drawer assembly are inserted into the double-walled drawer frames and fastened thereto.
The bottom ofthe drawer can either be pushed into the drawerframes orfastened to the pull-out rails.
The drawerframes are advantageously injection moulded of plastics material. The front cover is generally made of wood orchipboard.
It is the object ofthe invention to provide a drawer of the afore-mentioned kind in which the operation for fastening the front plate can be carried out very quickly and in which the means necessary for fastening the front plate are designed in a very simple manner. A secure support of the front cover should be guaranteed, however, and the connection between thefrontcoverand the drawerframes should also be able to make up greatertensileforces.
According to the invention this is achieved by providing each holding memberwith a looking member which engagesatthedrawerframe.
It is advantageously provided that the locking member is an eccentric hook which engages at a bolt in the interior of the d rawer frame.
Afurther embodiment provides that a threaded loop is arranged atthe holding members into which a threaded bolt is inserted which forms the locking member, and that a corresponding opening is provided in a wall ofthe drawerframe into which the threaded pin projects, when the front cover is in the locked position.
A further embodiment ofthe invention provides that thefurnitureframeshaveattheirinnersidesaflange which is parallel to thefrontcoverand at which a pivot leverforming the locking member abuts from the rear, with an eccentric possibly being provided to press the pivot lever upwards. The eccentric is actuable through a hole in the wall ofthe drawerframe by means of a screwdriverorthe like.
The pivot lever may be directly moulded to the holding member.
When the locking member is a hook, a bolt may be provided atthe two walls of the drawer frame to obtain a better force diversion.
In the following various embodiments ofthe invention will be described with reference to the figures ofthe accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 shows a schematic sectional view ofthe front region of a drawer frame and of a front cover, Figure 2 shows a sectional view along line Il-Il of Fig. 1,Figures 3 and 4, as well as Figures 5and 6, show equal views as Figures 1 and 2 of two further embodiments of the invention, Figure 7 shows a vertical sectional view of a further embodiment of a drawer frame according to the invention, Figure 8 shows a sectional view along line VIII-VIII of Fig. 7, and Figure 9 shows aviewfromthe direction of arrow A, the front cover being omitted for the sake of clearness.
In the embodiments according to Figs. 1 and 2, the drawerframe has referencenumber2andthefront cover has reference number 5. The front cover 5 carries at each side a holding member 3.
In the mounted position the holding member3 projects between the two walls 6 of the drawerframe 2. Bolts 7 are arranged atthe inner sides of walls 6.
The holding member 3 carries an eccentric hook 8 which is lockable to the bolt 7.
An opening 9 is provided in a wall 6which allows insertion of an adjusting tool to the hook which forms the locking member.
The front cover 5 abuts from the front directly at the drawerframes 2.
In the embodiment according to Figs. 3 and 4, the locking member is formed by a pivot lever 10. The pivot lever 10 is pivotable about a bearing 11 atthe holding member 3. In Fig. 3,the pivot lever 10 is shown by a continuous line in the position in which the front plate 5 is liftable from the drawerframe 2. The position in which the pivot lever 10 locks the front cover 5 to the drawerframe 2 is shown by a dotted line.
In this embodiment, too, an opening 9 is provided in the wall 6which allows insertion of an adjusting tool to the pivot lever 10.
In the embodiment according to Figs. 5and 6,the pivot lever 10 is resilient and moulded directlytothe holding member3.
As described in the embodiment according to Figs. 3 and 4, the front plate 5 is locked by the pivot lever 10 that abuts the flange 12 of the drawerframe 2 from the rear.
In the described embodiment, the pivot lever 10 is pivoted byturning the eccentric 13.
In the position illustrated in Fig. S. thefront plate5 can be removed from the drawer frame 2. For locking the front plate 5 the eccentric 13 is turned to press the pivotleverl0upwardsagainsttheflange 12.
Intheembodiment according to Figs. 7to 9,the holding member 3 is provided with a threaded loop 14 in which a threaded pin 4 is mounted.
The breadth ofthethreaded loop l4andthe length ofthe threaded pin 4 correspond substantially to the inside width between the walls 6 ofthe drawerframe 2.
For mounting thefront cover 5,thethreaded pin 4 is screwed intothethreaded loop 14in such a manner thatitdoes not project beyond.The holding member3 can now, as shown in Fig. 8, be pushed into the drawer frame 2.
An opening 9 is arranged again in awall 6 which allows insertion of an adjusting tool, such as a screw driver, to the threaded pin 4, and which corresponds in this embodimentto the diameter of the th readed pin4 orofa boltofthethreaded pin 4.
For locking the front cover 5 to the drawerframe 2, the threaded pin 4 is turned out of the threaded loop 14 to move it into the position shown in Fig. 9. The threaded pin 4 projects into the opening 9 and thus prevents that the holding member3 is pulled out ofthe drawer frame 2.
In Figs. 7 and 9, the drawer guide rail has reference number 1.

Claims (8)

1. A drawer having double-walled drawer frames, in particular of plastics material, and a front plate with holding members being fastened to both sides thereof by means ofwhich the front plate can be anchored to the drawerframe, characterized in thatthe holding member (3) carries a locking memberwhich engages atthe drawerframe (2).
2. A drawer as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the locking member is an eccentric hook (8) which engages at a bolt (7) in the interior of the drawer frame (2).

A drawer as claimed in claim 1, characterized in thata threaded loop (14) is arranged atthe holding members (3) into which a threaded pin (4) is inserted which fo: nsthe locking member, and that a corresponding opening (9) is provided in awall (6) of the drawerframes (2) into which the threaded pin (4) projects, when the front cover (5) is in the locked position.
4. A drawer as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the drawerframes (2) have attheir innersides a flange (12) which is parallel to the front cover (S) and at which a pivot leverforming the locking member abuts from the rear.
5. A drawer as claimed in claimed 4, characterized by an eccentric (13) which presses the pivot lever (10) againsttheflange (12) ofthe drawerframe (2).
6. A drawer as claimed in claim 1, characterized in thatthe pivot lever (10) is moulded to the holding member (3).
7. A drawer as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that a bolt (7) informed at both walls (6) ofthe drawer frame (2).
8. A drawersubstantially as hereinbefore described and as illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
