Abstract

A perpetual calendar comprises a box having a base plate with recesses to receive pegs bearing dates, which pegs may be arranged in order corresponding to the days of the week. Some pegs may be replaced by markers for special days and all pegs have raised letters or numbers to allow for reading by touch.

Description

SPECIFICATION Ready-date This invention relates to a compact and portable cal endarthatblind and blind deaf people can use with ease. The box is complete with pegs and a special compartment to hold spare pegs, also a platform in which to place current pegs.
The days of the week, always starting with Sunday are raised letters as a permanentfixture on the left hand side of the peg holes.
Each peg bears a raised numberfrom onetothirty one, also various raised letter pegs which would be of use to each particularowneri.e.
N for Nurse H for Hospital VforVisitoretc Figure 1 shows box with lids open.
Figure2 shows close up of box with pegs in position.
Figure 3 shows two pegs enlarged to show raised letter and number.
Refering to the drawing of Readydate, Figure I, in order to use- once the person is informed that (for argument sake) thatthefirst day of August falls on a Thursday-the peg that is numbered one is placed in its position and all the rest in numerical order- as many pegs as there are days in that particular month.
To mark a special daythe userwould replace a numbered peg with the appropriate letterforthe occasion.
To cancel a day the owner can either reverse or remove a peg. (Side compartment always ready toreceive pegs.)
CLAIMS 1. Refering to the drawing of readydate Figurel, this could prove to be a most useful aid to blind and blind and deaf people. It is also light and easy to handle.
