Abstract

A board light is a light attached to a board by means of a clip or permanent fixture. The bulb will transmit light down the sheet of paper on the board to aid the user's vision. The bulb is contained within a housing connected to the clip via a resilient member. In use, the housing is biased by the resilient member so as to clamp the sheet of paper between the housing and the board. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Board light This invention relates toa light which is attached to a board, There have been previous light designs which have been portable and used to aid the user in subdued light to view or mark paper, According to the present invention, a light attachment to a board comprising means for attaching the light to the board, a housing cqntaining a bulb socket and means for accomodating an energy source for powering a bulb that has been placed in the socket, and resilent means connecting the housing to the attaching means, the arrangement being that, when attached to the board, the housing forms a clamp biased by the resilient means to clamp one or more sheets of paper between the housing and the board.
The bulb socket being so arranged within the housing that, when a bulb is placed in the socket, it enables light from the bulb to shine down the board.
Optional features on the design - where a magnetic pad is placed on the housing and used to secure a writing implement, which has been fitted with a metal clip and is attracted to the magnetic pad to the housing.
- Attachment of the light housing means is either a clip for clipping onto a board or plate that can be permenantly attached, for example by rivets to the board.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompaying drawing in which: Figure 1: Shows in perspective, the board light attached to the board clamping sheets of paper.
Figure 2: Shows an underside view of the board light and a side view of the board clip.
Referring to Figure 1, to illustrate the light operation, the power switch 1 is moved from left to right activating the bulb 2. Reffering tq Figure 2, the bulb 2 is activated by two power cells 3. The board clip 4 is made from spring steel and pressed or folded to the shape illustrated.
1. A board light comprising a housing containing a bulb socket and means of accomodating an energy source for powering the bulb.
2. A board light comprising a housing which forms a clamp biased by the resilient means to clamp one or more sheets of paper.
3. A board light which has optional features to have a magnetic pad 6 secured to the housing, used to secure a writing implement to it using magnetism to the metal clip.
