Abstract

A plant pot stabilizer has three or more flexible legs 10 which radiate from a central collar 11 so that when the collar is fitted around a plant pot, the stabilizer will prevent the plant pot from falling over and damaging foliage and/or flowers. The circumference of the collar can be adjusted to allow the stabilizer to accept pots of various sizes. The flexible legs allow the stabilizer to be used on hard, soft, level or uneven surfaces. A depth restraint 14 which restricts the depth to which the legs will penetrate when used on soft surfaces, is incorporated on each leg. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Adjustable Plant Pot Stabilizer This invention relates to an adjustable plant pot stabilizer.

The stabilizer is designed to prevent plant pots from falling over and damaging foliage and/or flowers. Flexible legs allow itto be used on hard, soft, level or uneven surfaces and it can be used to stabilize plant pots in ponds.

The stabilizer can be manufactured from a variety of materials, for example, plastic or P.V.C.-coated wire.

According to the present invention there is provided an adjustable plant pot stabilizer comprising three or more flexible legs which radiate from a central collar allowing the stabilizer to accept pots of varying sizes. A means of restricting the depth to which the legs will penetrate when used on soft surfaces is incorporated on the legs.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in elevation the adjustable plant pot stabilizer with a plant pot in position.

Figure 2 is a plan view of the adjustable plant pot stabilizer.

Referring to the drawings the stabilizer comprises three or more flexible legs 10 which radiate equidistantly from a central collar 11. A catchment means 12 is provided on the collar. The circumference of the collar is increased or decreased by utilising, for example, the holes in a plastic strap or the links in a chain 13 or similar means which will secure both ends of the collar thereby providing the adjustment for accepting various sized pots. A depth restraint 14 is incorporated on each leg.

1. An adjustable plant pot stabilizer comprising three or more legs which radiate from a central collar. A means for adjustment is provided allowing the stabilizer to accept pots of varying sizes.

2. An adjustable plant pot stabilizer as claimed in Claim 1 where a catchment means is provided on the collar co-operable with the means which will secure both ends of the collar thereby providing the adjustment for accepting various sized pots.

3. An adjustable plant pot stabilizer as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 the legs being flexible.

4. An adjustable plant pot stabilizer as claimed in any preceding claim where a depth restraint means is incorporated on the legs.

5. An adjustable plant pot stabilizer as described herein with reference to Figures 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings.

Amendments to the Claims have been filed, and have the following effect: Claims 1 to 5 above have been deleted or textually amended.

New or textually amended claims have been filed as follows:- 1. A support for a plant pot or the like, which comprises a split collar arranged to extend around the periphery of a selected plant pot, the collar having radiating therefrom at least three support members and being provided with a flexible connector for connecting the two parts of the split collar such that the collar can be enlarged or contracted to accommodate a range of sizes of pots.

2. A support according to claim 1, in which the flexible connector comprises a strap with a series of apertures therein for engagement with a projection on said collar.

3. A support according to claim 1, in which the flexible connector comprises a chain the links of which can selectively engage with a projection on said collar.

4. A support according to any of claims 1 to 3, in which the support members are flexible.

5. A support according to any of claims 1 to 4, in which each support member is provided with means for restricting the depth of penetration of said member into a soft surface.

6. A support for a plant pot or the like, substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The stabilizer is designed to prevent plant pots from falling over and damaging foliage and/or flowers. Flexible legs allow itto be used on hard, soft, level or uneven surfaces and it can be used to stabilize plant pots in ponds.
