Abstract

A tunnel cloche consists of a framework which holds sheets of corrugated plastic sheeting and permits one sheet of corrugated plastic to slide over another whilst the cloche remains in situ, permitting access to the crops within for cultivation, ventilation or watering. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Sliding opening corregated plastic tunnel cloche This invention refers to a tunnel cloche consisting of corregated plastic sheets which slide open within a framework to offer ease of access to crops, whilst the cloche remains insitu.
Corregated plastic tunnel cloches are well known and used for gardening purposes. In each section of tunnel cloche only one sheet of corregated plastic is used which is fixed firmly in a frame. Access to crops for cultivation, ventilation or watering requires the removal of the cloche. Also the size of the cloche is restricted by the standard widths of corregated plastic sheeting produced by the manufacturers. These problems have restrained a more widespread use of such cloches.
The present invention provides a framework which holds several sheets of corregated plastic sheeting for each section of tunnel cloche. The framework permits one sheet of corregated plastic to slide over another permitting access to the crops within.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 ) shows a section of the cloche closed.
Figure 2) shows a section of the cloche open.
Figure 3) shows the framework used to hold the sheets of corregated plastic sheets.
Referring to the drawing, the cloche is comprised of a framework which holds the sheets of corregated plastic sheeting, see Figure 1) cloche closed and Figure 2) cloche open. The corregated plastic sheeting is held at each end and in the centre by the framework. Each section of the framework see Figure 3), is comprised of three concentric semicircular rings forming the two guides within which the corregated plastic is held. The rings are held rigid by a cross strut and spikes which stick into the soil and prevent the cloche being moved by the wind.
1. A sliding opening tunnel cloche consisting of sheets of corregated plastic which slide open within a framework.
2. Aframework as claimed in Claim 1 means each section is comprised of three concentric semicircular rings forming the guides within which the corregated plastic can be moved or held in place.
3. A framework as described in Claim 2 means a framework accommodating several corregated plastic sheets for each section of the tunnel cloche.
4. A sliding opening corregated plastic tunnel cloche as described herein, with reference to Figures 1-3 of the accompanying drawing.
