Description

SPECIFICATION Field closet FIELD AND BACKGROUND OF INVENTION The present invention relates to a field closet which is mainly, but not exclusively, intended for use of children.
It is known that when taking children to outings, camping, long distance drives and like activities the problem arises of not having toilet facilities at hand.
OBJECT OF INVENTION It is the object of the invention to provide means which permit the user to obey nature's call in a convenient and dignified manner and to dispose of the excrements in a way which does not interfere with others.
It is a further object of the invention to provide means intended to train small children in the use of W.C. facilities which customarily are dimension forthe use of adults.
SHORTSUMMAR Y OFDISCLOSURE According to the invention the new closet compris- es a seat with central opening with hinged thereto or separably connectable legs and means for stabilizing said legs in the set-up position ofthe device, means being further provided forfixing an impermeable bag suspended from the edge of the said opening in the seat.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODI MENT These and furtherfeatures of the new field closet will become clearfrom the following detailed description which refers to the annexed drawings in which: Fig. 1 is an exploded view ofthe new device.
Fig. 2 being an elevational section of the device in set-up condition.
Fig. 3showing-in sectional view-a a detail.
Fig. 4 illustrates the use ofthe new device.
Turning first to Fig. 1, the new field closet comprises a circular seat A with a central hole. To the underside ofthe seat A are hinged two legs, each being formed by U-shaped hoops C. Alternatively the hoops forming the legs may be connectable to the seat, as shown in Fig. 3 by inserting the free ends of the hoops into recesses a'found at the underside of the seat A. These hoops are preferably made of strong wire. At the ends of the horizontal web ofthe U the web comprises two set offportions C1 into which can be laid the spoon-shaped ends D1 of flat bars D (see also Fig. 4), thereby stabilizing the legs and preventing them from folding onto the seat which would result in collapse of the device.
Part of the circumference of the seat A forms a hollow pocket Efor storing toilet paper and impermeable bags, say of polyethylene. Such a bag, indicated bythe letter Fis inserted into the central opening of the seat A and is suspended from its edge, as shown in Fig. 2, by folding the edge at the mouth ofthe bag on a ring shaped member Bwhich then is fittingly inserted into the opening in the seat and is received on a recessed shoulder1 at the edge of the opening, Alternatively, the bag's mouth may overlie the seat opening, and be clamped thereto by member B inserted therein.
As can be seen in Fig. 3, there may be provided bosses a at the underside of seat A having a recess a' into which the free ends of legs C can be inserted fittingly.
With the new field closet set-u p and a bag Fput in position, the device is ready for use. After use the filled bag is closed and secured by appropriate means and can be disposed of.
The seat of the device described above lends itself also to a further purpose: it can be placed on the top edge of a standard toilet bowl, thugs enabling small children to comfortably sit on the W.C. and so training them to regularly use the toilet. Such placing ofthe device is performed after removing the legs of the Fig.
3 embodimentorafterfolding up the legs ofthe Figs 1, 2 and 4 embodiment which, as is apparent from the drawings, will then underlie the seatA outwardly of the seat's central opening.
1. Field closet comprising a seat with central opening with hinged thereto or separably connectable legs and means for stabilizing said legs in the set-up position of the device, means being further provided forfixing an impermeable bag suspended from the edge of the said opening in the seat.
2. Field closet claimed in claim 1, wherein the inner edge of the opening in the seat forms a recessed shoulder adapted to receive an annular member fittingly received on that shoulderto clampingly hold the edge at the mouth of an impermeable bag suspended from the edge of the opening in the seat.
3. Field closet claimed in claim 1, characterised thereby that the said legs supporting the seat are U-shaped hoops wherein the two ends of the web of the U are set-off against the major portion of the said web, flat bars with spoon shaped ends being provided, said ends fitting into the said set-off portions of the web to stabilize the legs.
4. Field closet claimed in claim 3, characterised thereby that the said legs are hinged to the underside of the seat.
5. Field closet claimed in claim 3 characterised thereby that the said legs are inserted to recesses in bosses at the underside of the seat.
