Abstract

A reversible tool case has two halves of boxes 10 fitted with tool retaining brackets 12, a double reversible hinge 11 and double handle 13. A clip 14 may secure the box halves 10 in an open condition for access to the tools. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Reversible tool case This invention relates to a reversible tool case.
Tool boxes are well known for carrying mechanics workshop tools.
There is a special type of tool box which has hinged shelves and opening lids. Boxed type hinged tool boxes are flat and it is difficult to find the correct tools; they get full of unnecessary contents and it is therefore easy to lose tools.
Viewed from one aspect the present invention provides a case for tools comprising a pair of complementary hingedly interconnected case parts each provided with means for holding and storing an array of tools, such case parts being hingeable between a closed, toolenclosing, storage condition and an open, substantially back-to-back, condition of use in which the tools are displayed in two oppositely facing arrays, and means for releasably securing the case parts in their said closed and open positions.
Figure 1 shows in perspective the tool case closed and in the carrying position.
Figure 2 shows the tool case in one-third opening position.
Figure 3 shows the tool case in the inverted position.
Figure 4 shows the tool case in the open position.
Referring to the drawing the tool case comprises two halves of boxes 10 which contain brackets for retaining tools 12 double reversible hinged top 11 also double handle 13 and clip 14 at one end to support case in the open position with fastener 1 5 to fasten case in closed position.
In order to open the tool case release fastener 15 open halves of case out flat and lift reverse handle 13 and secure clip 14 and tools are ready for use. To close the case the steps described above are carried out in the reverse sequence.
1. A case for tools comprising a pair of complementary hingedly interconnected case parts each provided with means for holding and storing an array of tools, such case parts being hingeable between a closed, tool-enclosing, storage condition and an open, substantially back-to-back, condition of use in which the tools are displayed in two oppositely facing arrays, and means for releasably securing the case parts in their said closed and open positions.
2. A reversible tool case as claimed in Claim 1 is opened from the closed position by releasing fastener and opening flat and lifting inside handle to raise tool case to open position.
3. A reversible tool case as claimed in Claim 1 or 2 wherein the reversible hinge and handles provided allow the tool case to open.
4. A reversible tool case as claimed in Claim 2 or 3 wherein catchment means are provided to retain the tool case in the closed and open position.
5. A reversible tool case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the two sides are fitted with tool retaining brackets.
6. A reversible tool case substantially as described herein with reference to Figs. 1-4 of the accompanying drawing.
