Abstract

In order to have a rubber stamp readily available, a writing instrument such as a ball-point pen or propelling pencil, has a rubber stamp 5 on a cap 2; the stamp 5 is covered by a protective cap 4 which has a blind end carrying an inked pad 6. The protected cap 4 makes a friction fit on the cap 2, and when it is in position, the pad 6 is in contact with the stamp 5 to keep the stamp 5 ready inked. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Writing instrument This invention relates to a writing instrument ball pen or refillable lead pencil characterized in that it is provided with two coaxial caps, the one protecting the tracing end carries at its head a stamp made of rubber or other suitable material protected by a second cap which internally, in the blind bottom, carries a pad for stamps suitably inked arranged in such a way that the stamp at the head of the inferior diameter cap is permanently into contact with the surfice of the corresponding inked pad when the two coaxial caps are mutually engaged and thus always ready for use.

The invention will be further described by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: Figure 1 shows the writing instrument provided with the two caps.

Figure 2 is an exploded view of the elements being part of the instrument.

In the drawing, 1 indicates the casing of the instrument which, of course, may take any shape different from the one given by way of example. The cap 2 which in the represented drawing is provided with a clip 3 that may be differently placed, is engaged on the tracing end la.

A second cap 4 has a friction clutch on cap 2. A small stamp 5 is anyhow secured at the top of the cap 2 which, when the second cap 4 is engaged on the cap 2, is into contact with an inked pad 6 secured in the blind bottom of the same cap 4.

Disengaging the second cap 4 the stamp 5 is ready to be used. The stamp 5 besides reproducing any writing such as name of the instrument's holder, or phone number or anything else, may reproduce as well an alphabetical letter or any image of things or animals, in order to be able to realize writings and/or figurative compositions, disposing of a plurality of instruments with stamps different one from the other.

Taking for granted the characteristic feature of the double cap 2, 4 realizing a stamp, the said caps and the casing may take any shape different from the represented drawing such as for example, an oval cross section shape, in order to widen the stamp surface.

The ambit of the patent is not limited to the example given and represented but comprises any similar or equivalent solution.

2. A writing instrument as claimed in claim 1 characterized in that the stamp reproduces any letters, or numbers, or images connected or not to different graphic signs.

3. A writing instrument as claimed in claims 1 and 2 with a double cap realizing a stamp and a corresponding pad, as described and for the specified objects.
