Abstract

In the vertical downward transportation for bunkering, especially of waste material, a pipe 1 is used, composed of sections, which pipe has an internal guide control spiral. The pipe (1) has a diameter of at least 1 meter and the spiral (2) has no helical eye and is arranged with an upward incline of 30 to 45 DEG . <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Device for vertical downward transportation The invention relates to a device for vertical downward transportation and bunkering, especially of waste material, which is substantially composed of pipes having guide spirals.
For the vertical downward transportation of loose material, especially waste material, pipes with a diameter of 500 mm and a so-called guide spiral with an incline of 45" have been used for a long time. It is the purpose of the winding guide spiral in these tubes to give the stream oftailingsa uniform, moderate speed and to guarantee in this manner a grain-protecting treatment. In addition to such pipelines with guide spirals, free fall tubes are known in which, however, greater speeds occur and where there is no grain protection.
In connection with a pneumatic stowing operation, it is necessary after a vertical transportation of waste material to bunker a sufficient quantity of material to be blasted for the continuous transportation of the waste. Since with known pipelines, having guide spirals, bunkering could not be carried out due to the small cross-section and also because of constant clogging, there was a need to provide additional bunkers with a corresponding cross-section.
A substantial portion of the stream of loose material moved in such vertical downward transportation falls in free fall through the helical eye and destroys in this manner not only the winding spiral, but compacts the loose material intended for bunkering due to its high speed of falling. Moreover, the loose grain is split up due to the free falling which negatively influences its blowability.
In connection with the problems which arise in downward transportation, especially of waste material, with the known pipelines, it is an object of the invention to provide a device for downward transportation and bunkering particularly of waste which allows a grain-protecting downward movement under a substantial decrease of fall energy which protects the current of loose material and, beyond that, avoids, in an economical way, the constant clogging in the downward transportation with bunkering.
This object is attained according to the invention in that the pipeline has a cross-section of at leastl m and a winding spiral without a helical eye in cross-section, having an incline of 30 to 450.
This combination of features creates in a simple manner a sufficient bunker volume and allows at the same time an automatic freeing of the winding spiral at the end of bunkering. The pitch of the winding spiral between 30 and 35 must be adapted to the flow properties of the loose material which is, for example, dependent upon its clay content. Doing without a helical eye, normally forming the free cross-section in longitudinal tube direction, prevents the free fall through the helical eye over long distances of the loose material moved downward in this manner, and thus an unnecessary crushing of the loose material as well as a destruction of the winding spiral are avoided.Depending upon the chosen pitch of the winding spiral, the loose material falls, while exceeding the inner winding edge, without noticeable crushing onto the current of loose material below.
Since due to the missing helical eye and the enlarged cross-section of the pipe, as distinguished from known pipelines, the cantilevered width of the winding construction is greater, a corresponding support by support plates is advantageous.
The technical advance of the invention lies substantially in the fact that the intended downward transportation with bunkering of the loose material becomes economical, and beyond that, the grainprotecting treatment of the loose material is guaranteed. Clogging, which slows down normal operation considerably, is avoided.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing by means of a partial section through a pipeline. It is more clearly described below.
The pipeline 1 which is provided for the vertical downward transportation with simultaneous bunkering, especially of loose material, has a winding spiral 2 which has no free cross-section or no helical eye in the centre of the pipeline 1. In accordance with the form or components of the loose material the winding spiral 2 provided in the pipeline 1 has a pitch of 30 to 45". Due to the cantilevered width of the winding spiral 2, while taking into consideration the cross-section of the pipeline 1 of more than 1 m, the winding spiral is supported by support plates or support brackets 3.As the drawing further shows, the flow of loose material 6 runs in the area of the winding spiral 2 of which, however, a considerable part exceeds the inner winding edge 5 in form of a drop parabola 4 and is caught by the current of loose material 6 below in a grain-protecting manner.
