Description

SPECIFICATION Multi-purpose stapler The present invention relates to a multi-purpose stapler.
As industries and trade companies expand faster and faster to meet economic developments in the modern times everywhere, as a result of the recovery of all kinds of industries in particular, it is found indispensable some particular stationery items, a stapler in particular, in almost any category of industry or trade concern, because it proves, as it always does, to be of substantial help in the handling of documents and paper items by tidying them up in moments, some party, started to work out a stapler embodying a punch altogether in a single unit, like what is shown in Figure. 4, such an invention still leaves much to be desired of, because:: (1) of the restriction to apply to but one fixed dimension of the staple, incompatible for a change of the size of the staple; (2) of the restriction as regards the stapling angle and the stapling latitude such that stapling can but be applied to marginal positions of paper and documentary articles; and (3) of the restrictions on the dimension of articles being stapled, thus causing inconvenience and prejudicing working efficiency.
It is in view of the foregoing reasoning that the inventor started to work out, and eventually with success, the present invention.
The present invention provides for a multi-purpose stapler, incorporating two median blocks and a nose in the staple cartridge to form two push-in grooves permitting loading of two differently sized lots of staples, and also a composite means of fix gear and a catching pin between the press helve and the front tip of the cartridge so that the invention device can accommodate to stapling practice in any angle, and also a movable plate on the pad so that the invention device can be applied on almost any set of paper sheets of whatever profile or dimensions.
The invention will now be described further by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a multi-purpose stapler in accordance with the invention; Figure 2 is a detailed illustration of the staple cartridge of the stapler shown in Figure 1, Figure 3 is a side elevational view of the stapler shown in Figures 1 and 2, and Figure 4 is an exploded view of a conventional stapler.
(1) ----------- pressed helve (12) ----------- fixed gear (121) ---------- gear tooth (13) ----------- Insertion pin (2) ----------- cartridge tipfront (21) ----------- catching pin (3) ----------- transmission shaft (31) ----------- recovery spring (32) ----------- spring tip (4) ----------- staple cartridge (41) ----------- edger (42) ----------- median block (43) ----------- nose (44) ----------- siding shield (45)(46) ---------- push-in groove (5) ----------- pad (51) ----------- movable plate (511) ----------- clover screwnut (512) ----------- screw (513) ----------- limiting shield (52) ----------- sliding groove (6) ----------- support (61) ----------- screw (7) ----------- pusher (71) ----------- lateral inlay (72) ----------- interior inlay (8) ----------- big size staple (9) ----------- small size staple The present invention provides for a multi-purpose stapler, more specifically it means such a stapler that permits loading of two differently sized lots of staple into the same and the only staple cartridge, and which permits setting in any direction for working on an object set or batch of sheets in maximum convenience.
So to speak, the present invention is meant to provide for a multi-purpose stapler, incorporating nose and median blocks in the pad mounting to form a push-in groove permitting loading of two lots of differently sized staples, the larger size lot superimposing the small size lot, and a fix gear and catching pin in the press helve and the tipfront of the cartridge, which altogether will permit stapling operation in any direction relative to the object sheets, and a movable plate on the pad mounting so that the invention device may work on any object sheets regardless of the dimension of the latter.
Referring to Figure 1 through Figure 2 it is seen that the back of the pad (5) is hollow-set, and that on the body there is a sliding groove (52) permitting displacement thereinto of screw (512), and that a scale is provided on both sides thereof for reference purposes; that in front thereof there is provided an enclosure to accommodate introduction of rotation disk (53) on which there are provided a big stapling pan (531) and a small stapling pan (532) respectively, both executed to point up in centre and taper down peripherically, to be of a diameter corresponding to the length of the staple, that support (6) is made of a substance having minimal resilience, the front edge of which is processed into a fixing member (612), and that fix gear (12) and catching pin (21) are provided between the press helve (1) and the cartridge tipfront (2), both being closely engaged to each other by means of the gear tooth (121) and the catching pin (21) as provided on the fix gear (12); and that in the groove in the staple cartridge (4) there are provided two parallel median blocks (42) and a nose (43) limited by a lateral board (45) on either side, such that the median block (42) and the nose (43) will altogether produce a push-in groove (45) to permit loading of a row of small size staple (9) whereas median block (42) and siding shield (44) will form another push-in groove (45) to permit loading of a larger sized staple defile, say, staple n 3 or like size products, the pusher (7) can be arranged to lay just in the staple cartridge (4) so that the lateral inlay (71) and the interior inlay (72) thereon may achieve a close match with the push-in grooves (45) (46), and that in the groove for the pusher (7) relative to the transmission shaft (3) there is provided a recovery spring (31).
To assemble, the movable plate (51) will be placed upon the pad mounting (5) by fixing the screw (512) by way of the sliding groove (52) and the screwnut (511), this being done, screw (61) will go into the pad (5) to have support (6) lying thereon, in the meantime the rotation panel (53) will be secured to the front end of pad (5) by means of propping nail (533), to follow that, insertion pin (13) will be used to combine the press helve (1) and the fixer (612) as provided in front of the support (6) into unity, like what is shown in Figure 3.
For stapling purposes, the user may choose either the large size staple (8) or the small size staple (9) to best suit the paper sheets to be treated thereby, should the user prefer to use staple n10, a large size, he may put the staple n"10 (8) straddling into the two push-in grooves (45) provided in the staple cartridge (4) he shall then fold the cartridge (4) unto the transmission shaft (3), whereupon recovery spring (31) will be in a position to thrust against the pusher (7) to the effect that the lateral inlay (71) relative to the pusher (7) will bear against the tail end of the lot of big size staple (8) alongside push-in groove (45), in the meantime the lot of big size staple (8) will respond to bear against the tip end (41) of the cartridge (4) accordingly, to produce a situation such that the user may put the sheets standing by for stapling inwards between the cartridge (4) and the pad (5), with the movable plate (51) being available for positional adjustments by taking into account the dimension of the sheets of paper to be treated thereby, to ensure that a uniform position of stapling be achieved for each stapling practice, the feeding end of the sheets of paper will have to be engaged against the limiting shields (513) as provided on either side of the movable plate (51), moreover, it is possible to effect adjustment of the angle of the cartridge tipfront (2) relative to the press helve (1), to do the stapling, exert a pressure against the press helve (1) so that the tip end (32) of the transmission shaft (3) will bring a staple (8) out of the interior of the tipfront (41) via the cartridge (4) for penetration through the object sheets of paper or the like, now since that the big stapling pan (531) is structured to converge centrally from the periphery, hence both ends of the big staple (8) will have both feet bent upon forced contract, thereby binding the object sheets to secure in position, in cases where it is desired to use regular smaller size staples (9), the procedure disclosed thus far will apply all the same by just changing the large size staple contents to the small ones, followed by displacing the small stapling pan (532) corresponding to the rotation panel (53) to the front edge of the pad (5) with respect to the nail prop (53) aligned to the exit end of the tipfront (41) of the cartridge (4), and the invention device will be ready for stapling services in continuation.
The disclosure going thus far should leave little doubt as to the desirability of the invention as a truly novel and worthwhile piece of stationery instrument that should prove indispensable in an office or for school or household use or other fields of interests.
