Abstract
216,566. Samuels, J., and Worrall, W. H. Feb. 26, 1923. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Table games.-A game apparatus comprises a movable member provided with apertures passing the ends of shoots down which balls are rolled by the players to pass through the apertures. Means, operated by the ball, are provided for indicating the successful passing of a ball through an aperture and for simultaneously stopping the moving member. The apertures 5 are formed in a rotating polygonal member mounted on a platform 3 on a vertical shaft 2 to which is fixed a disc 15 fitted with compartments 16 having translucent windows 17 illuminated by lamps the switches of which are closed when a ball, rolled down to radially-arranged shoots 33, passes through an aperture. The means for effecting this comprise gutters 20 having pivoted, weighted extensions 21 which are depressed by the weight of the ball and operate contacts 25, 26 to light the lamp in the appropriate compartment 16, and to open the circuit of the motor 18 during the apparatus. The ball is released from the gutter 21 by tilting a stop member 23 by the appropriate handle 32 connected thereto by linkage, 30, 31; the gutter then tips back and the motor 18 is restarted. The motor drives a sleeve 6 which drives the platform 3 through discs 8. 14 attached thereto and engaging rollers 13 mounted on a spider which may be fixed to the shaft 2. The sleeve 6 carries an arm 9 which draws a model train round a track on the base 1 of the apparatus in a direction contrary to that of the platform 3. The gutters may be replaced by pivoted weighted levers, the opposite ends of which respectively make and break the electric contacts, and are fitted with baskets &c. for the balls.
