Abstract

A device for use as a fishing rod rest or roach pole hook comprises a plastic member having a cut-out at one end and a snap-on portion at the other end for attachment to a tubular chair. With the opening of the cut-out uppermost, the device functions as a fishing rod rest (Figure 2, not shown), and when inverted as a roach pole hook (Figure 3, not shown). Two devices may be used to support a fishing rod, one device being upright and the other inverted. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Adjustable chair fishing rod rest/roach pole hook Technical Field (1) This invention relates to an adjustable chair Fishing Rod Rest/Roach Pole Hook.
Background of invention Rod rests are of varied design, but all are made to be stuck in the ground.
On many fishing venues the riverbank is so hard that only the front rod rest can be used when placed in water, also when fishing from river edge which has a concrete bank, the rod sometimes is just placed upon the bank or ground.
Essential Technical Features According to the present invention there is provided, a plastic rest with a snap on section, for clipping to tubular chairs. The snap on section, has such tolerance, to aliow the rest to be adjusted to various heights and angles when fitted to the chair. When inverted the Fishing Rod Rest becomes a Roach Pole Hook. A knurled thumb tighting screw is added to enable the rest to be set in any position, and to avoid siipping.
If two rests are used, they fit as follows: The inverted rest on the rear chair leg and the upright rest on the front chair leg. The pair can be used to support a rod.
The base ofthe handal on the fishing rod fits under the inverted rear rest leaving the remaining part of the rod to fit over the front rest to give a balanced situation.
The two rests can be used on either side of the chair.
Example A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by means of examples with reference to the accompanying diagrams.
Figure (1) shows in perspective the fishing rod rest.
Figure (2) illustrates the fishing rod rest fitted to the rear leg of the chair, when used as a back rod rest.
Figure (3) illustrates the fishing rod rest inverted as used fort Roach Pole Hook.
Figure (4) illustrates two rests fitted to the chairfor use as front and rear rod rests with a rod being used.
1. An adjustable chair Fishing Rod Rest/Roach Pole Hook for use in conjunction with tubular chairs.
The rest is attached to the chair by means of a snap on section. When attached to the chair with cutout upright it is used as a rear rod rest.
2. An adjustable chair Fishing Rod Rest/Roach Pole Hookasclaimed in claim (1).
When inverted and attached to the chair it becomes a Roach Pole Hook.
3. An adjustable chair Fishing Rod Rest/Roach Pole Hook as claimed in claims (1) or (2) wherein when two rests are used as follows: one rest with cutout inverted and attached to rear leg of the chair the other rest with cutout upright and attached to the front leg.
They then form front and rear rod rests.
4. An adjustable chair Fishing Rod Rest/Roach Pole Hook as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the rests can be attached to either the right or left hand side of chairs. If used on both sides of a chair together two fishing rods can be used.
