Abstract

A container e.g. for lipstick comprises an outer casing 11 and a cup 14 for bearing the lipstick 22, having diametrically opposite pins 23 each engaging within a helical guide groove 16 inside said casing 11 and within longitudinal slots 26 of a rotatable sleeve 15 positioned between said casing 11 and said cup 14, said sleeve 15 being axially constrained to said casing by engagement means 24, 25. Description

SPECIFICATION Container for lipstick, lip-paste and/or deodorizer stick The present invention relates to a container for lipstick, lip-paste, deodorizer stick and/or the like, easy to be used, and suitable to be handled with one single hand during its use.

Lipsticks, lip-pastes and/or deodorizer sticks having the shape of more or less coloured stick, housed within an essentially tubular container are known.

Said sticks, of more or less large diameter, is controlled to move out from and back into the container for its use, by the turning of portions or of components of the same container. Containers are known indeed, which are constituted by at least three portions. More precisely: a very outer container, on whose inner surface a helical guide is provided; a cup onto which the lower end of the stick is fitted, which cup is provided with two radial diametrically opposite pins, which engage the said helical guide; and finally a rotatable sleeve, positioned in an intermediate position between the outer container and the cup, provided, along generatrices thereof, with two slots engaged by the pins of the same cup, and which can be controlled for rotation by means of an outer ring knob.

In this way, by turning said sleeve, by means of the outer ring knob, the fore-and-aft axial translation of the cup is controlled, and as a consequence the coming out and the reentering of the lipstick relatively to the very container is controlled.

The sleeve is axially constrained to the outer container, but with the possibility of turning around its longitudinal axis.

A so-structured container shows the problem of being difficult to be used and handled by means of one hand only, and must be almost necessarily held by the user by both his/her hands when the extraction of the stick or its reintroduction into the container is to be carried out.

The presence of the outer end ring knob can moreover cause an accidental shift of the stick with consequent breaking or squashing thereof.

Purpose of the present invention is to provide a container for lipstick, lip-paste, deodorizer stick or the like, contained in a stick-shape and movable between a completely inner position and an outer position, suitable to be controlled for said movement by the aid of one hand only, in an extremely simple way. Said container must moreover be of simple actuation and of reduced cost, and must not allow any undesired accidental rotation.

These and further purposes according to the invention are accomplished by providing a container for materials such as lipstick, lip-paste and/or deodorizer stick of the type comprising an outer casing, a cup, suitable to bear a stick of said material, provided with two radial diametrically opposite pins which are engaged within a helical guide groove provided inside said casing and within longitudinal slots of a rotatable sleeve positioned between said casing and said cup, said sleeve being axially constrained to said casing by engagement means, characterized in that said sleeve is protruding from said casing with a knurled portion for the rotation control, from the same end portion from which said stick is operatively coming out from the said casing, said casing being suitable to receive a cap on the same end, and being provided at its other end with a closing element or plug.

The structural and functional characteristics and the advantages of a container according to the present invention shall be better understood from the following exemplifying and not limitative disclosure referred to the attached schematic drawings, whwerein.

Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a container according to the present invention, and Figure 2 is an exploded view of the container of figure 1, as turned by 90 relatively to its own axis.

Referring to the drawings, a container, according to the present invention, and generally indicated with 10, is essentially comprising five components 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, e.g., manufactured by moulding from plastic material.

The component 11 is the cylindrical outer casing provided on its inner surface with a helical groove 16, with a first inner peripheral seat 17 and with a second inner peripheral seat 24 at an end, and with a pair of seats 18 at a second end, suitable to receive extending portions or fins 19 of a cap or second component 12.

The component 13 is a closure element or plug suitable to be inserted inside the casing 11 by snap-forcing and has a seat 20 suitable to receive an identifying element or a trade name (not shown).

The component 14 is a cap, onto which in a seat 21 a stick 22 of lipstick, lip-paste or deodorizer is inserted, said cup being moreover equipped with two radial pins 23, placed in diametrically opposed positions and engaged within the helical groove 16.

The component 15 is constituted by a sleeve suitable to be inserted inside the casing 11 axially, but not rotatably, constrained by an annular or semi-annular edge 25 complementary to the seat 24.

Said sleeve 15 is moreover provided with a pair of longitudinal grooves 26, diametrically opposite to each other and extending along generatrices from the edge 25, and with a control knurled outer portion 27 at the other end.

The assemblage of a container 10 so disclosed and according to the present invention is immediate.

The sleeve 15 is introduced into the casing 11 until the edge 25 of said sleeve 11 is snap-fastened inside the seat 24.

The cup 14 is inserted in such a way that the pins 23 enter the grooves 26 and inside the guide groove 16. The plug 13 is finally inserted.

At this time, after that the cup 14 has been positioned on the bottom of the casing 11 (figure 1), the stick 22 is positioned inside the related seat 21 and the container 10 is closed by means of the cap 12.

The movement for using such a container, e.g., with a stick 22 of lip-paste, is extremely easy.

Once that the cap 12 has been removed, the user holds the container 10 by one of his/her hands only, and acts e.g. by his/her thumb and forefinger on the knurled portion 27 thus causing the sleeve 15 to rotate relatively to the casing 11.

The cooperation and the mutual reaction between the stationary guide groove 16, the movable slots 26 and pins 23 promote the coming out of the stick 22 ready-to-use.

Once that said paste has been used, the stick is brought back into the inside of the casing 11, by turning the sleeve in the opposite direction, and the cap 12 is put back in its place.

A container according to the present invention, such as the one exemplified, is hence particularly comfortable, in that by means of hislher other free hand, the user can hold a small mirror, or some other thing to be used at the same time.

Moreover, the cap 12 prevents any undesired accidental actuations of the knurled portion 27.

Claims

1. Container for materials such as lipstick, lippaste and/or deodorizer stick of the type comprising an outer casing, a cup, suitable to bear a stick of said material, provided with two radial diametrically opposite pins which are engaged within a helical guide groove provided inside said casing and within longitudinal slots of a rotatable sleeve positioned between said casing and said cup, said sleeve being axially constrained to said casing by engagement means, characterized in that said sleeve is protruding from said casing with a knurled portion for the rotation control, from the same end portion wherefrom said stick is operatively coming out from the said casing, said casing being suitable to receive a cap at the same end, and being provided at its other end with a closing element or plug.

2. Container according to claim 1, characterized in that said closing element or plug is provided with a pair of protruding fins suitable to be snapinserted in complementary seats provided on the outer surface of said body.

3. Container according to claim 1, characterized in that said closure element or plug is of the type suitable to be snap-coupled with said casing, complementary means for engagement being provided on both components.

4. A container for lipstick, lip-paste and/or deodorizer stick substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
