Abstract

A ball-point pen has a case 2 with a front end piece 5 which contain an ink tube 6 having a ball point 6a. The case 2 also contains a rechargeable container 7 which has a filling and discharge spout 7a for any liquid, such as a medicine. The container 7 is rebated at 7b so that the ink tube 6 lies in the rebate. The rear end of the case 2 is closed by an end piece 4 which is internally screw-threaded at 4a to screw over the spout 7a. The arrangement enables the pen to carry a small dose of medicine for emergency use, which is easily accessible by removing the end piece 4. <IMAGE>

SPECIFICATION Writing instrument having a container for a liquid The present invention has for purpose a writing instrument, more precisely a ball-point pen, characterized in that the external covering of the same encloses, together with the barrel for the ink, a small container for a liquid substance such as: a perfume, a liqueur, a medicine or everything else; such a container of limited capacity, particularly useful for whom, in emergency cases, must immediately have at disposal a little dose of a specific liquid medicine presents the neck and the mouth of the same directly within easy reach by removing the moving extremity of the case longitudinally opposite to the cap which protects the ball trace extremity.

Clearer features of the invention are described below referred to the drawings enclosed.

The Figure 1 is the side view of a preferable form of the writing instrument; The Figure 2 illustrates the same instrument from which the cap and the extremity of the case opposite to the cap were removed; The Figure 3 is the perspective exploded view of the essential parts forming the aforesaid instrument, without the cap; The Figure 4 and 5 illustrate two different forms of container.

The writing instrument as a whole, including the case 2, the cap 3 and the removable extremity 4 is indicated in the drawings with 1.

The truncated conical extremity from which the trace point 6a of the tube barrel 6 (fig.1, 2) is projected, is indicated with 5.

According to the invention, the tube barrel 6, in plastic material which permits considerable longitudinal flexibility of the same, occupies the groove 7b of the container 7 which, in 7a, is equipped with a charge and discharge opening for any liquid substance. This container 7, being preferably semicylindrical, has a truncated conical profile, such as the case 2 in which is inserted; therefore it may be inserted and/or extracted from the case 2 only from the opening engaged by the extremity 5. The opening 7a of the container 7 is preferably threaded mantle-shaped, on which the extremity 4 is screw engaged in 4a.

In these conditions, the above-mentioned writing isntrument realizes also, at the same time, a container for liquid substances as a rule, in particular small quantities of medicines for emergency use.

As it's represented in fig. 4 and 5, the container 7 inserted in the case 2, may assume any form being suitable and different from that called out in fig. 3; it may be realized of higher capacity (fig.4) at expense of the barrel length 6 or may be of considerable capacity if equipped with a grooved seat 7b right along its own generatrix or axial 7c, for an ink barrel 6 of length almost alike to the length of the case 2.

As described, the features of the aforesaid writing instrument are clear, characterized in that of being equipped with a container, for liquid substances, of limited capacity controlled by a filling and evacuation plug of the liquid to be contained; a barrel which may be also an integral part of the case 2.

Obviously the purpose of the invention isn't limited to the example described and called out, but includes every other similar or equivalent solution.

1. Writing instrument such as ball-point pen or lead holders, characterized in that of including, in its own case, a rechargeable container of limited capacity, for liquid susbtances.

2. Writing instrument according to the claim 1), characterized in that the container for liquid substances is inserted in the case of the writing instrument together with the tube barrel of the ink, equipped with trace extremity and, for this purpose, this container presents a seat able of containing this barrel or lead holder.

3. Writing instrument according to the claim 1) or 2) in which the container for liquid substances terminates with a charge and discharge opening overhanging from the bottom of the case, closed by a removable extremity which acts as plug and completes the same case.

4. Writing instrument equipped with container for liquid substances, according to the claim 1), 2) or 3) where the aforesaid container is an integral part of the instrument case.

5. Writing instrument coupled to a barrel for liquid substances, of limited capacity, as described and called out for the purposes indicated.

3. Writing instrument according to the claim 1) or 2) in which the container for liquid substances terminates with a charge and discharge opening overhanging from the bottom of the case, closed by a removable extremity which acts as plug and completes the same case.

4. Writing instrument equipped with container for liquid substances, according to the claim 1), 2) or 3) where the aforesaid container is an integral part of the instrument case.
