Abstract

Bills to be deposited or disbursed are accumulated on a mounting plate 59/74, at the lower end of which there is a gap 76 for allowing passage of bills between a front plate 75 and the mounting plate 74, the gap being opened and closed by gate 78. Plate 75 also aligns the bills on plate 74. An accumulating wheel 9 receives bills from the inside of the machine and drops them onto the mounting plate to be dispensed. A mechanism 6,7,8 feeds bills from the mounting plate one at a time to the inside of the machine. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Dealing port depositing and disbursing mechanism of bill depositing and disbursing machine The present invention relates to a bill depositing and disbursing machine which is operated by a customer at the branch of a financial institution or by a teller behind the counter of a financial institution such as to be used for depositing or disbursing cash.
In recent years, bill depositing and disbursing machines which are capable of effecting both the depositing and disbursing of bills and incorporate numerous functions incidental to the depositing and disbursing operations have tended to be used on an increasingly wide scale with a view to achieving labor saving at financial institutions. There has been a demand with respect to such bill depositing and disbursing machines for them to be designed such as to be capable of accommodating bills to be received or disbursed inside the machine in as large an amount as is practically possible so as to minimize the labor required in such operations as the replenishment of bills to be disbursed and the collection of bills received.
If a bill depositing and disbursing machine is designed to satisfy all the aforementioned requirements, however, the machine becomes unavoidably large in size and becomes complex. Consequently, there are shortcomings in the effective utilization of the available space at the branch of a financial institution or behind the counter of said institution.
In view of the above-mentioned circumstances, the applicant developed a so-called circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine adapted to reuse received bills as distursable ones and has applied for patent, thereby making it possible to meet the latter requirements by preventing the machine body from becoming too large in size and from becoming complex. In order to avoid the machine body becoming large-sized and complex while meeting the requirements for the creation of a multi-functional bill depositing and disbursing machine in the future, it has been necessary to make effective use of the available space inside the machine by grouping together the functions of various devices and equipment inside the machine or streamlining the layout thereof as practically as possible.
One object of the invention is to make effective use of the available space inside the machine by making compact the functions required in a bill depositing and disbursing machine.
Another object of the invention is to make effective use of the available space in the machine by grouping together the functions of mechanisms for discriminating received bills and returning unacceptable bills to the operator, in particular, from among the mechanisms required of a bill depositing and disbursing machine.
A still another object of the invention is to make the bill depositing and disbursing machine compact by making common some functions required of the bill depositing and disbursing machine, and further to improve the operating efficiency of the bill depositing and disbursing machine.
To attain the aforementioned objects, in one aspect the present invention is arranged as follows: A mounting plate for ccumulating received bills or bills to be disbursed is provided in an inclined state, and, at the same time, a front plate is provided at the lower end portion of this mounting plate with a gap allowing bills to pass therethrough between the same and the upper surface of the mounting plate. The gap allowing accumulated bills to pass therethrough between this front plate and the mounting plate is opened and closed by an opening and closing gate. Bills fed out from a conveying route inside the bill depositing and disbursing machine are received by an accumulating wheel above the mounting plate and are caused to drop on the mounting plate. At the same time, the accumulated bills on the mounting plate are drawn out in the planar direction by a bill feeding mechanism so as to feed the bills to the conveying route inside the bill depositing and disbursing machine. A partitioning plate for covering the bills accumulated on the mounting plate on condition that the gap for allowing passage of bills is opened by the opening and closing gate is provided between the mounting plate and the accumulating wheel in such a manner as to be capable of advancing and retreating freely, and the accumulated bills are pressed by this partitioning plate toward the mounting plate.
In another aspect, the present invention is characterised by the following: A dealing port communicating with the inside of the bill depositing and disbursing machine is provided in the body of the bill depositing and disbursing machine for receiving and disbursing bills.
A first mounting plate for mounting accumulated bills is provided in an inclined state such as to face said dealing port inside said machine body. A second mounting plate is provided in the same plane as said first mounting plate and at a position lower than the first mounting plate. A receiving and delivering mechanism for receiving and delivering accumulated bills is provided between said mounting plates. Furthermore, a mechanism for feeding the bills accumulated on the mounting plate one by one into the conveying route inside the machine and an accumulating mechanism for accumulating bills fed out from the conveying route inside the machine are provided on the second mounting plate.
By-way of example, an embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a side elevational view explaining the flow of bills inside the circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine; Fig. 2 is a side elevational view illustrating the details of the dealing port mechanism and the feeding and accumulating mechanism; Fig. 3 is a fragmentary top plan view of the same portion as is shown in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 is a side elevational view illustrating the details of the lifting and lowering mechanism of the lower conveyor belt; Fig. 5 is a side elevational view illustrating the details of the storage section partitioning plate; Fig. 6 is a side elevational view illustrating the details of the lifting and lowering mechanism of the upper conveyor belt;; Fig. 7 is a front elevational view partly in section illustrating the details of the shutter driving mechanism; Fig. 8 is a view taken along the lines VIll-VIll shown in Fig. 7.
Figs. 9 through 11 are side elevational views illustrating the depositing operation in the order of operation; and Figs. 1 2 and 1 3 are side elevational views illustrating the disbursing operation in the order of operation.
Description will be made hereafter of an embodiment of the present invention applied to a circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine for window use operated by two tellers (bank clerks) of a financial institution such as a bank.
Fig. 1 is a route diagram explaining the flow of bills to and from the respective component elements of one embodiment of a circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine for window use.
Reference numeral 1 in the figure denotes the machine body of a circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine, and a dealing port 2 is provided on the upper surface of this machine 1. A pair of these dealing ports 2 is disposed in the transverse direction of a machine body 1 (vertically with respect to the page of Fig. 1), and below these dealing ports 2 are provided a pair of dealing port mechanisms 3 for respectively storing bills which are received or delivered via each dealing port 2, the upper portion of this dealing port mechanism 3 being openable by means of a shutter 4.In addition, a feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 is connected to the dealing port mechanism 3, and this feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 moves in the direction of the arrangement of the dealing ports 2 so as to effect the reception or delivery of bills between the same and either of the dealing port mechanisms 3.
Moreover, a bill-feeding mechanism for feeding bills received inside the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 one by one, i.e., a kick-out roller 6, a feeding roller 7, and a friction-separating member 8, is provided below the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5. On the other hand, accumulating wheel 9 for accumulating bills for disbursement conveyed from disbursing bill storing parts 19-21 for each type of denomination, which will be described later, is provided above the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5. Incidentally, detailed description will be made later of the specific arrangement of the aforementioned dealing port mechanism 3 and the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5.
Received bills which are separated and conveyed by the feeding and accumulating section 5 are conveyed via a discrimination route 10. A discriminating section 11 is provided midway in the discrimination route 10 and is adapted such that discrimination can be effected with regard to the genuineness of the bills being conveyed, their denomination, obverse and reverse sides, whether or not they are damaged, etc. The discrimination route 10 in the latter part of the discriminating section 11 is divided into a distribution route 1 3 and a rejection route 1 4 by means of a distributins fork 12.
Distributing forks 15, 16, 1 7 and 1 8 are provided at four places along the distribution route 1 3. Bills distributed by the distributing forks 1 5 to 1 8 are respectively accumulated and stored in a disbursing bill storing part 1 9 for 10,000 bills, a disbursing bill storing part 20 for 5,000 bills, a disbursing bill storing part 21 for 1 ,000 bills, a first storing part 22 and a second storing part 23.
The rejection route 14 is connected to the midway section of a dispensing route 55, which will be described later, and this dispensing route 55 is connected to the accumulating wheel 9 of the feeding and accumulating section 5 so as to feed bills into said accumulating section 5.
The disbursing bill storing section 1 9 for 10,000 bills, the disbursing bill storing section 20 for 5,000 bills and the disbursing bill storing section 21 for 1,000 bills are respectively disposed horizontally and are arranged by combining accumulating wheels 24, 25 and 26, kickout rollers 27, 28 and 29, feeding rollers 30, 31 and 32, and friction-separating members 33, 34 and 35, respectively, and each storing section accumulates bills in an inclined state.
The first storing part 22 and the second storing part 23 are disposed vertically on the terminal side of the distribution route 1 3 and are arranged by combining accumulating wheels 36 and 37, storing bottom plates 38 and 39, a storing front plate 40 (integrally formed), and guide plates 41 and 42.
The accumulating directions of the respec tive accumulating wheels of the first storing part 22 and the second storing part 23 are set in opposing directions. Bills fed in from above the accumulating wheel 36 of the first storing part 22 are accumulated in an upright state on the storing bottom plate 38 between the accumulating wheel 36 and the storing front plate 40 by means of the guide plate 41, while bills fed in from below the accumulating wheel 37 of the second accumulating part 23 are accumulated, in an upright state, in the direction opposite to that of the bills of the first bill storing part 22 on the storing bottom plate 39 between the accumulating wheel 37 and the storing front plate 40 by means of the guide plate 42.
Incidentally, it is desirable to provide a belt moving, for instance, on the storing bottom plate 39 toward the storing front plate 40 side, so that the rear-end side of the accumulated bills will be fed positively to the storing front plate 40 side at the time when the bills are accumulated at the second storing part 23.
Next, description will be made of the depositing and disbursing box 43, which has a special bearing on the first and second storing parts 22 and 23. The arrangement of this depositing and disbursing box 43 is such that this box is disposed below the first and second storing parts 22 and 23 and is detachable with respect to the machine body 1.
Further, an undamaged bill storing section A for storing undamaged bills in an upright state is provided in the front portion of the depositing and disbursing box 43 as seen from the mounting direction, and a damaged bill storing section B for storing damaged bills in an upright state is provided at the rear section thereof.
In other words, undamaged bills are clamped between a front plate 44 and a reciprocating plate 45, while damaged bills are clamped between a rear plate 46 and a transverse pair of damaged bill holding bars 47, 47, and the front plate 44, reciprocating plate 45, and rear plate 46 are supported such as to be horizontally movable.
Incidentally, in the figures, reference numeral 48 (48) denotes a transverse pair of undamaged bill holding bars employed at the time of storing undamaged and damaged bills, while reference numerals 49 (49) denote a transverse pair of temporary holding bars employed at the time of storing undamaged bills.
An openable cover 50 is openably provided in the front and lower portion of the depositing and disbursing box 43 as seen from the mounting direction. A front receiving plate 51 with an L-shaped section for receiving undamaged bills to be stored is provided in this openable cover 50.
Furthermore, a kick-out roller 52, a feeding roller 53, and a friction-separating member 54, which can be engaged with the depositing and disbursing box 43 and can feed undamaged bills inside the box 43 at the time of mounting the box 43, are provided in said front and lower portion of the depositing and disbursing box 43 as seen from the mounting direction and in a state wherein they are supported by the machine body 1.
The bills which are separated and fed out one by one from the respective disbursing bill storing parts 19, 20 and 21 and the depositing and disbursing box 43 are conveyed via the dispensing route 55. A disbursing bill feed discriminating part 56 is provided midway along the dispensing route 55 and is adapted to be capable of judging any abnormality in the feeding of bills being conveyed (double feed, longitudinal feed, proximity feed and the like).
The latter section of the rejection route 1 4 joins and is connected to the latter section of the dispensing route 55 following the disbursing bill feed discriminating part 56, and this dispensing route 55 is connected to the accumulating wheel 9 of the feeding and accumulating section 5.
Also, a transfer route 58 for transferring bills to the discrimination route 10 in the first portion of the discriminating section 11 by means of a distributing gate 57 branches out and is connected to the vicinity of the rear end of this dispensing route 55.
Next, the specific arrangement of the dealing port mechanism 3 and the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 will be described with reference to Figs. 2 to 6.
In other words, the dealing port mechanisms 3 are disposed in the transverse direction of the machine body, as shown in Fig. 3.
A first mounting plate 59 on which accumulated bills are mounted is provided in an inclined state at the bottom portion of the dealing port mechanism 3, as shown in Fig.
2. A notch 59a is formed in one portion of this first mounting plate 59, a U-shaped portion 60 for facilitating accumulated bills on the first mounting plate 59 to be taken out easily from above the machine body 1 being provided below this notch 59a. Additionally, a front plate 61 which comes into contact with the tip of bills on the mounting plate and for aligning the same is provided vertically above the lower end portion of the first mounting plate 59.
The shutter 4 which opens and closes the dealing port 2 is coupled to a shutter driving belt 63 via a coupling block 62. One of the belt pulleys 65 and 65, between which this shutter driving belt 63 is trained, is adapted to open and close the shutter as said belt pulley rotates by being operated by a shutter opening and closing mechanism comprising a driving shaft 69 and a shutter shaft 70 leading from the shaft 67 of a shutter motor 66 to the shaft 68 of a belt pulley 65, as well as gears 71A-71 F for transmitting the power between these shafts. Detailed description of the shutter opening and closing mechanism will be made later.
The feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 is mounted on a frame 73 supported by slide guide shafts 72, 72 provided in the transverse direction of the machine body 1, as shown in Fig. 3, so as to be capable of moving integrally therewith in the transverse direction of the machine body. Furthermore, as it effects sliding movement by being operated by a slide mechanism, which will be described later, said feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 is adapted to move to a central position (refer to Fig. 3) for effecting the receipt and delivery of bills with the conveying mechanism in the machine, or to a position closer to the right-hand or left-hand side opposing either of the dealing port mechanisms 3.
A second mounting plate 74 is provided on the abovedescribed feeding and accumulating mechanism 5. This mounting plate 74 is inclined such as to be disposed in the same plane as that of the first mounting plate 59, and, at the same time, is disposed with a gap in the planar direction between it and the lower end portion of the first mounting plate 59. Additionally, a front plate 75, with the tip portion of accumulated bills mounted on the mounting plate 74, is provided above the lower end portion of this second mounting plate 74. This front plate 75 is disposed with a gap 76 between it and the upper surface of the second mounting plate 74 for allowing bills to pass therethrough, and vertically with respect to the second mounting plate 74.
Furthermore, a shaft 77 is provided on the rear side of the front plate 75, and an opening and closing gate 78 for opening and closing the gap 76 is rotatably provided to this shaft 77.
The above-described opening and closing gate 78 is connected to a gate solenoid 80 via a link mechanism 79 and is arranged so as to rotate about the shaft 77 when operated by this gate solenoid 80. Additionally, the shaft 77 is provided with a spring (not shown) to urge the same such that a partitioning plate 81 will become rotatble and such that the degree of opening between the same and the opening and closing gate 78 will constantly remain as shown in Fig. 2.At the time of dispensing bills accumulated on the second mounting plate 74, this partitioning plate 81 is rotated so as to be lowered to a position above the accumulated bills and accumulates rejected (returned) bills separately from the accumulated bills on the second mounting plate 74 Incidentally, Fig. 2 shows a state in which the opening and closing gate 78 has closed the gap 76 and the partitioning plate 81 has been raised.
Next, description will be made of a receiving and delivering mechanism for effecting the receipt and delivery of bills between the dealing port mechanism 3 and the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5.
In other words, this receiving and delivering mechanism comprises the following: a storage section partitioning plate 82 appearing and disappearing between the first mounting plate 59 and the second mounting plate 74 so as to control the movement of bills from the first mounting plate 59 to the second mounting plate 74; a lower conveyor belt 83 disposed on the lower side of both mounting plates 59 and 74 so as to feed the bills diagonally; and an upper conveyor belt 84 for conveying a bill by clamping the bill together with the lower conveyor belt 83. Each of these component elements moves as required by being operated by a link mechanism and the like, which will be described later, and effects the receipt and delivery of a bill from the first mounting plate 59 to the second mounting plate 74 or in the reverse direction.Additionally, the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84 are set to be of such a length as to be capable of overlapping the lower end portions of the first mounting plate 59 and the upper end portion of the second mounting plate, so that bills mounted in either the first mounting plate 59 or the second mounting plate 74 can be clamped. Incidentally, notches 59b and 74a for allowing the lower and upper conveyor belts 83 and 84 to pass therethrough are provided on the first and second mounting plates 59 and 74, respectively.
Next, detailed description will be made of a mechanism for raising and lowering the storage section partitioning plate 82, the lower conveyor belt 83, and the upper conveyor belt 84 with reference to Figs. 3 to 6. This mechanism has a cam shaft 89 which rotates as it is coupled with a receiving and delivering motor 85 via gears 86 to 88. First to third eccentric cams 90 to 92 for operating the storage section partitioning plate 82, the lower conveyor belt 83, and the upper conveyor belt 84, respectively, are provided on this cam shaft 89.
As shown in Fig. 4, the aforementioned first eccentric cam 90 operates a lower rocking arm 93 to rock said lower rocking arm 93 about a supporting shaft 94A, and causes a coupling pin 95 at the end of this lower rocking arm 93 to engage with one end of a lower link 96 so as to rock said lower link 96 about a supporting shaft 94B. Owing to the rocking of this lower link 96 and a link arm 96' (refer to Fig. 2), which constitutes a parallel link mechanism together with the lower link 96, the aforementioned lower conveyor belt 83 moves vertically in parallel with the first and second mounting plates 59 and 74.
As shown in Fig. 5, the aforementioned second eccentric cam 91 operates a partition ing plate arm 97 such as to rock the same about a supporting shaft 98, and causes the end portion of this partitioning plate arm 97 to be engaged with the pin 99 of the storage section partitioning plate 82 so as to move the same vertically. The shaft 98 supporting the partitioning plate arm 97 is supported by a fixed frame 100 both ends of which are supported by the supporting shafts 94A and 94B. On the other hand, the storage section partitioning plate 82 is supported by partitioning plate guides 101 and 102 so as to be vertically slidable with respect to the first and second mounting plates 59 and 74.
As shown in Fig. 6, the aforementioned third eccentric cam 92 operates the upper rocking arm 103 and rocks the same about the supporting shaft 94A , and causes a coupling pin 104 at the end portion of this lower rocking arm 103 to be engaged with one end of an upper link 105 so as to rock said link 105 about the supporting shaft 94B, which in turn causes a rack 106 provided at the other end of the upper link 105 to be engaged with a gear 107 so as to rock a rotating arm 108 about a supporting shaft 109. By the rocking of this rotating arm 108 and a link arm 108' (refer to Fig. 2), which constitutes a part of the parallel link mechanism together with the rotating arm 108, the upper conveyor belt 84 is moved vertically in parallel with the first and second mounting plates 59 and 74.
Incidentally, the lower rocking arm 93 and the upper rocking arm 103 are urged counterclockwise as viewed in Fig. 6 by such an urging means (not shown) as a spring so as to come into contact with the first and third eccentric cams 90 and 92, respectively.
Meanwhile, the partitioning plate arm 97 is urged clockwise as viewed in Fig. 5 by an urging means (not shown) similar to the one for the rocking arms 93 and 103 so as to maintain the pressure of its contact with the eccentric cams 90 to 92, respectively.
Next, description will be made of a driving mechanism for running the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84.
In other words, a gear 87, which is driven by the receiving and delivering motor 85, is engaged with a gear 110, which drives a gear 113 via a pulley 111 and a belt 112, and further drives gears 114 and 11 5 which are engaged therewith. These gears 114 and 11 5 are engaged with gears (not shown) having the same axial lines as those of the belt rollers 11 6 and 11 7 of the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84, respectively, and thereby transmiting the driving power to them.Incidentally, the driving mechanism for raising and lowering the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84 as well as the driving mechanism for running said conveyor belts 83 and 84 has a power connecting and disconnecting means (not shown), such as a clutch, this means being provided in both cases at the midway point in their power transmission routes, and the raising and lowering movement and the driving of the belt are effected selectively or simultaneously by this power connecting and disconnecting means.
Next, description will be made of the driving mechanism of the aforementioned shutter 4 with reference to Fig. 7.
The rotation of the shutter motor 66 is transmitted to the driving shaft 69 via the gears 71 A and 71 B and, at the same time, is transmitted from this driving shaft to the shutter shaft 70 (only one shutter shaft is shown in Fig. 7) for each shutter 4 via the gears 71C and 71D. Further, the rotation of this shutter shaft 70 is transmitted to the shaft 68 via the gears 71 E and 71 F.In addition, a clutch 11 8 for opening and closing either one of the two shutters 4 is provided between the shutter shaft 70 and the gear 71 D, and this clutch 11 8 comprises a clutch plate 11 9 rotating integrally with the gear 71D, a lock plate 121 rotating as it comes into frictional contact with said clutch plate 11 9 via a lining material 120, and a unidirectional clutch 1 22 provided between the lock plate 1 21 and the shutter shaft 70 so as to transmit only the unidirectional rotation of the lock plate 1 21 to the shutter shaft 71.
Addtionally, the unidirectional clutch 1 22 is arranged such that the gear 71 E is capable of rotating only unidirectionally with respect to the shutter shaft 70, and that the shutter 4 can be closed mannually, as desired. Furthermore, an uneven gear-shaped portion is formed around the peripheral portion of the lock plate 121, and this uneven portion is adapted such that a lock piece 1 24 operated by a lock solenoid 1 23 can engage with it, as shown in Fig. 8. As this lock piece 124 and the lock plate 121 are engaged, the rotation of one shutter shaft 70 can be restricted irrespective of the rotation of the shutter motor 66 and the driving shaft 69.
Incidentally, as shown in Fig. 2, the slide mechanism for moving the aforementioned feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 comprises the following: a worm gear 1 26 provided on a slide motor 125; a spur gear 1 27 engaging with this worm gear 126; a-pulley 129 provided on a shaft 128 rotating integrally with the spur gear 127; and a slide belt 130 wound around this pulley 129. The slide belt 1 30 is coupled with the moving frame 73 of the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5.
Next, description will be made of the depositing operation and the disbursing operation in the bill depositing and disbursing machine.
(A) Depositing Operation (Refer to Figs. 9 to 11 .) (i) When the teller gives an instruction for deposit, engagement is made between the lock piece 124 and the lock plate 121 of the shutter 4 on the side for which the instruction was given. If the shutter motor 66 is rotated in this state, the other shutter becomes open.
Additionally, the slide motor 125 operates so as to slide the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 in the transverse direction of the machine body 1 and to dispose the same in the position opposing the dealing port mechanism 3 on the side for which the instruction was given.
(ii) If accumulated bills S are deposited onto the mounting plate 59 of the dealing port mechanism 3 and the s-hutter 4 is closed, the bills S are mounted on the first mounting plate 59 in a state in which downward slippage thereof is restricted by the storage section partititioning plate 82. (Refer to Fig. 9.) (iii) When the cam shaft 89 is rotated by the receiving and delivering motor 85, the first to third eccentric cams 90 to 92 are operated respectively, thereby lowering the storage section partitioning plate 82. At the same time, the lower conveyor belt 83 is raised upwardly from the mounting plates 59 and 74, and, further, the upper conveyor belt 84 is lowered so as to clamp the bills S between the same and the lower conveyor belt 83. When the conveyor belts 83 and 84 are run in this state, the accumulated bills S are fed out in the direction of the second mounting plate 74.
(Refer to Fig. 10.) (iv) When the accumulated bills S are fed onto the mounting plate 74, the slide motor 1 25 is operated again so as to slide the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 such that the same is disposed at the central point between the two dealing port mechanisms 3,3 (in a position allowing receipt and delivery in coincidence with the conveying route in the machine), as shown in Fig. 3.
Then, the partitioning plate 81 is lowered onto the accumulated bills S, and, at the same time, the opening and closing gate 78 is raised so as to open the gap 76 for allowing the passage of bills. Then, when the bill feeding mechanism, i.e., the kick-out roller 6 and the feeding roller 7, is operated, the accumulated bills S on the second mounting plate 74 are fed one by one into the discrimination route 10, where judgment is made as to whether or not said bills can be accepted.
Then, the discriminated bills are taken into the machine body depending on the results, or caused to drop onto the partitioning plate 81 via the dispensing route 55 and the accumulating wheel 9.
Accordingly, bills S which were judged to be incapable of being received are not mixed in the undiscriminated bills on the second mounting plate 74 while the discrimination of the accumulated bills S is being carried out.
(Refer to Fig. 11.) (v) After all the bills on the second mounting plate 74 have been discriminated, the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84 are operated so as to convey the bills S on the partitioning plate 81 in the reverse direction to that described in (iii) above, thereby conveying said bills S onto the first mounting plate 59. Then, by opening the shutter 4 in this state, the teller can take out the unacceptable bills S from the bill depositing and disbursing machine.
(B) Disbursing Operation (Refer to Figs. 1 2 and 13.) (i) The partitioning plate 81 is caused to rotate and be raised, and, at the same time, the opening and closing gate 78 is lowered so as to close the gap 76 through which bills pass. Furthermore, the storage section partitioning plate 82 is set in the raised status, and the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84 are retracted for stand-by respectively.
Additionally, in this state, the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 is disposed in the central position, and the bills are fed out one by one from each disbursing bill storing part 19, 20, and 21. The bills fed out are conveyed via the dispensing route 55, and are fed onto the second mounting plate 74 via the accumulating wheel 9.
(Refer to Fig. 1.) (ii) After the specified number of bills are accumulated on the second mounting plate 74, the feeding and accumulating mechanism 5 is moved in the position opposing the dealing port mechanism 3 on the side for which an instruction for disbursing was given.
Then, the storage section partitioning plate 82 is lowered.
At the same time, the accumulated bills S are clamped between the upper and lower conveyor belts 83 and 84, and are fed from the second mounting plate 74 to the first mounting plate 59. (Refer to Fig. 13.) (iii) After the accumulated bills S have been fed onto the first mounting plate 59, as the shutter 4 to which the instruction for disbursing was given is opened, it becomes possible to take out the bills from the bill depositing and disbursing machine.
Furthermore, since, in this taking-out operation, the operator can grasp the accumulated bills S by inserting his fingers below the bills S accumulated on the first mounting plate 59 via the uneven portion 60 of the first mounting plate 59, the operator can effect the taking-out operation positively.
Incidentally, the circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine described in the above embodiment has the same basic arrangement as those of the Applications for Patent 1 and 2 filed by the present applicant on May 8, 1 984 or the "Circulating-Type Bill Depositing and Disbursing Machine" described in Applications for Patent 1 and 2 filed by the applicant on May 16, 1 984.
Therefore, in addition to the depositing and disbursing operations, it becomes possible to effect such as the distribution operation for distributing undamaged bills inside the depositing and disbursing box 43 (bills which can be reused as viable ones) into each storing part 1 9 to 21, as well as the completing operation for collecting all the bills stored in each storing part 19 to 21 into the depositing and disbursing box 43. However, since these operations are not directly related to the gist of the present application, description of the operations will be omitted.
Although the aforementioned embodiment was described with respect to a case where the present invention is applied to a circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine for operation by a teller (a bill depositing and disbursing machine which allows received bills to be reused as payable ones and has two dealing ports), it goes without saying that the technique of the present invention can be aplied to a bill depositing and disbursing machine operated by a customer (a bill depositing and disbursing machine with one dealing port) or a bill depositing and paying machine without a circulating function.
As is apparent from the foregoing description, the bill depositing and disbursing machine according to the present invention is arranged as follows: The mounting plate for accumulating received bills or bills to be disbursed is provided in an inclined state. At the same time, the front plate is provided at the lower end portion of this mounting plate with a gap allowing the passage of bills between said front plate and the upper surface of the mounting plate. The gap for allowing the passage of accumulated bills between this front plate and the mounting plate is opened and closed by the opening and closing gate.
Bills fed out from the conveying route inside the bill depositing and disbursing machine are received by the accumulating feeding above the mounting plate and are dropped on the mounting plate. At the same time, the accumulated bills on the mounting plate are drawn out in the planar direction by the bill feeding mechanism and are fed into the conveying route inside the bill depositing and disbursing machine. Accordingly, the present invention has advantages in that it becomes possible to use the mounting plate for the purpose of accumulation and storage of both received bills and bills to be disbursed, and that it becomes possible to enhance the bill storing capability by incorporating two functions into one mechanism, thereby making effective use of the available space inside the bill depositing and disbursing machine. In addition, since depositing and disbursing are effected through one dealing port, the operator can operate it simply by giving all his attention to this single dealing port, so that the invention has an advantage in that the operating efficiency of the bill depositing and disbursing machine can be improved.
Furthermore, a partitioning plate for covering the bills accumulated on the mounting plate on condition that the gap for allowing passage of bills is opened by the opening and closing gate is provided between the mounting plate and the accumulated wheel in such a manner as to be capable of advancing and retreating freely. Accordingly, it goes without saying that the two functions of accumulation of bills at the time of depositing and disbursing can be incorporated into one mounting plate. In addition, the present invention has other advantages in that it becomes possible to prevent unacceptable bills from being mixed in the bills deposited on the mounting plate since the temporary storage of unacceptable bills is effected by making use of space above the mounting plate, and that the bill storing capability can be enchanced by making effective use of the available space in the bill depositing and disbursing machine.
As is apparent from the aforementioned description, the present invention is characterised by the following: A dealing port communicating with the inside of the bill depositing and disbursing machine is provided to the body of the bill depositing and disbursing machine for receiving and disbursing bills. Accordingly, the present invention has advantages in that it becomes possible to make effective use of the available space inside the machine by incorporating the functions of both accumulation and dispensing of bills into the second mounting plate, and that it becomes possible ta facilitate the taking out of bills from the inside of the machine irrespective of the functions of the second mounting plate by disposing the first mounting plate above the second mounting plate and in the vicinity of the exterior of the machine body.
