Abstract
A compensated classical guitar nut shortens the distance from the nut to the first fret for the G string by having a protrusion a under the G string onto the finger board so correcting an innate tuning inaccuracy in the guitar. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
The compensated classical guitar nut
The compensated guitar nut improves the intonation of the third string (G) of the classical guitar.
It is not uncommon to compensate the G string at the bridge to make an accord between the harmonic and the stopped note at the twelfth fret. The lower notes on the string are not brought into tune by this remedy. G Sharp will be several cents sharp when stopped at the first fret on the G string. It will not accord with the G Sharp played on the first string at the fourth fret.
The compensated nut shortens the distance from the nut to the first fret on the third string.
The compensated nut may be made of any of the usual materials, ivory, bone, wood, metal or synthetic material. It differs from the usual nut in that it has a small protrusion (See Figure 1(a)) on to the finger board.
1. The compensated Classical Guitar nut makes the distance from the nut to the first fret shorter for the third (g) string than for the other five strings of the Classical Guitar.
2. The compensated Classical Guitar nut has a small protrusion underthe g string onto the finger board.
**WARNING** end of DESC field may overlap start of CLMS **.
