Abstract

A portable T.V. aerial 3, or a portable T.V. aerial fixed to an aerial holder (not shown), can be fixed to the pivot head 5 at the top of a telescopic stem 2. This allows the aerial or aerial holder to be set at the required angle. The stem, being telescopic, can be raised to the required height. The aerial wire 6 can be held to the stem by clips 4 if required. The stem fixes to a floor stand 1 by being slotted securely to it (Fig. 2). The floor stand also slots together securely (Fig. 1). This aerial is easy to assemble, secure and mobile. When dismantled it is easy to store. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Portable telescopic T.V. ariel or ariel holder This invention is related to a portable telescopic T.V. ariel or ariel holder.
Portable T.V. ariels are made pacifically to stand on top of T.V. sets. This is not always the most adequate place for the ariel to stand.
More often then not the T.V. sets position is determined by the portable ariel picking up an adequate signal. Thus the T.V. set is not placed in the most desired place.
This invention gives more flexibility to the ariel and set. Being floor standing the portable telescopic T.V. ariel or ariel holder can be placed in a position were it will receive the strongest signil regardless of the position of the TV set. With its telescopic stem it can be raised to the hight required. The ariel or ariel holder is on a pivot allowing the required angle The ariel wire can be fixed to the stem by ariel wire clips which are fixed to the stem.
Or it my hang freely.
The portable telescopic ariel or ariel holder is easy to assemble and dismantle. Makeing for easy storage.
Embodment of this invention will now be discribed with the aid of a drowing.
Figure 1 shows the assembly of the floor stand.
Figure 2 shows how the telescopic stem with ariel wire clips and pivot fixes to the floor stand.
Figure 3 shows the ariel (ariel holder is not shown) fixed to the telescopic stem also showing the telescopic stem fixed to the floor stand and ariel wire in ariel wire clips.
Referring to drowing:- The floor stand for the telescopic ariel is slotted together Fig. 1 which then becomes a ridged base ready to except the telescopic stem 2.
The bottom end of the telescopic stem has four slots Fig. 2 which fit snuggle to the floor stand 1 makeing one ridged structure. There are also ariel wire clips fixed to the telescopic stem 4. To hold the ariel wire. The ariel wire may also hang freely. The telescopic stem can be raised to the hight required 2. At the top end of the telescopic stem there is a pivot 5 to receive ariel 3 or ariel holder (which is not shown) to the stem.
The ariel or ariel holder which is not shown Fig. 3 is fixed to the pivot 5 This allows the ariel or ariel holder 3 (not shown) to attain an angle at the required degree The ariel can be dismantled in the reverse order to that discribed.
1. A portable telescopic T.V. ariel or ariel holder. That is floor standing. Giveing greater mobility to the ariel.
It is able to be raised to the desired hight with the aid of a telescopic stem. At the top end of the stem is a pivot to recieve the ariel or ariel holder. There are also ariel wire clips fixed to the stem. To arrest the ariel wire. The bottom end of the stem is sloted securly to the floor stand. The floor stand is also sloted securly together.
The portable T.V. ariel can be removed from the ariel holder, which like the ariel can be removed from the pivot. The telescopic stem can be remove from its floor stand and closed. The floor stand can then be parted making for easy storage.
The portable telescopic T.V. ariel or aried holder substantially as discribed here in with reference to Figs. 1, 2, 3 of the accompanying drawing.
The ariel holded is not shown on drawing.
CLAIMS 1. A stand for a television aerial, the stand comprising a base, a telesopic stem and means for supporting a television aerial at the top of the stem, wherein the base holds the stem in a generally vertical position and the length of the stem can be varied telescopically so that the aerial support means can be located at any desired height within the range of extension of the stem.
2. A stand as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the base is formed from two flat members which are slotted together at right angles to one another.
3. A stand as claimed in Claim 2, wherein the bottom end of the telescopic stem has a cruciform shaped slot for receiving the slotted together base members.
4. A stand as claimed in any preceding claim, including cable clips fitted to the stem to secure the cable of a television aerial to the stem.
5. A stand as claimed in any preceding claim, including a pivot between the aerial supporting means and the top of the stem.
6. A stand for a television aerial, substantially as herein described, with reference to the accompanying drawing.
7. A television aerial mounted on a stand as claimed in any preceding claim.
