Abstract
A suspended advertising element 1 comprises four similar sheets 2 joined together at outwardly folded edges 6 to adopt a hollow cubic configuration extended into an upper trunco- pyramidal portion 3. The sheets 2 are resistant to atmospheric attack and are capable of bearing advertising material. The folded edges 6 are joined at the time of manufacture. To assemble, the edges of the portion 3 are clipped together and a slotted tube (12) on a long handle (15) used as a tool to depress a resilient leg of a suspension clip 8 to hang the element as a mobile on a tree branch. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Suspended advertising element
The present invention refers to a suspended advertising element, particularly suitable for advertising campaigns made in streets and public thoroughfares.
A high percentage of such advertising compaigns is based on posters which are adhered to walls or on spaces particularly for advertising, such as boards. A small percentage of said advertising campaigns is based on posters, placards or advertising banners, fixed to trees or poles by means of knotted tie bands or similar devices.
Ali these known systems present the disadvantage that they are completeiy static and involve a very laborious fixing, since they use adherent pastes to fix the posters to the walls, or devices for fixing to posts and trees, such as strings or the like.
The suspended advertising element of this invention is essentially characterized in that it comprises four like sheets made of a light material resistant to atmospheric agents capable of bearing advertising announcements and joined together at their outwardly folded edges, adopting a substantially hollow, cubic configuration, ending upwardiy in a truncopyramidai portion having an open upper base, the lower base also being open and provided at its edges with an inwardly folded reinforcing peripheral rim, including suspension means securely joined to the upper truncopyramidal portion by flexible strips.
According to another characteristic of the invention, said suspension means is comprised of an open elastic ring, formed of a substantially Vshaped bent rod, one of the legs of which is longer than the other and is bent downwards at its end in a sharp angle, in the form of a hook; the ring being closed on the outside of the other substantially rectilinear leg, so that the ends of the legs are adjacent each other. Thus, to hang the element, the vertex thereof should be introduced in a tube forcing both legs to become closer, opening the ring and allowing the longer hooked-shaped leg to be coupled at a suitable site, and then upon lowering of the tube, the hook is suspended and the ring is closed when the rectilinear leg returns to its V-shaped position due to the resiliency of the rod.
The accompanying drawings iliustrate, by way of example and not limiting, an embodiment of the advertising element is question.
Figure 1 is a plan view of one of the four sheets comprising the advertising element of the invention.
Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the element, just unfolded.
Figure 3 illustrates a perspective view of the element ready to be suspended.
Figures 4 and 5 are detailed, enlarged views of the suspending operation of the suspended advertising element.
Referring to the drawings, it can be seen that the suspended advertising element of the invention is comprised of four like sheets 1, made of a light material resistant to atmospheric agents, such as for example, plasticized cardboard. Each sheet can bear an advertising announcement and can be joined to the other two adjacent sheets at their outwardly folded edges o.
The assembly adopts a substantially hollow cubic configuration having four lateral faces 2 above which an upper truncopyramidal portion 3, having an open upper base 4 appears, the lower base 5 of which is also open and provided at its edges with an inwardly folded reinforcing peripheral rim 7.
Suspension means is securely fixed to the upper truncopyramidal portion 3 by means of flexible suspension strips 1 4.
Said suspension means is comprised of an open elastic ring 8 formed of a substantially Vshaped bent rod, one of whose legs 9 is longer than the other and is bent downwards at its end 10 in a sharp angle in the form of a hook. The ring 8 is closed by the other essentially rectilinear leg 1 1, so that the ends of said legs 9 and 11 are adjacent each other.
To hang the element, it should be introduced at its vertex into a tube 1 2 provided with a groove 13 for the passage of the strips 14, which forces both legs 9 and 11 to come closer together, opening the ring 8 and allowing the longer leg 9, in the form of a hook, to be coupled at a suitable site, as branch 1 6 of a tree, and upon lowering of the tube 12 (figure 5), the hook formed by the leg 9 is suspended and the ring 8 is closed when the rectilinear leg 11 returns to its V-position due to the resiliency of the spring formed at the vertex of the rod constituting the ring 8.
The tube 12 is preferably placed at the end of a long handle 15 which permits the element to be hung from the ground.
All the adjacent outwardly folded edges 6 are joined at the time of manufacturing the suspended advertising element, with the exception of two opposed edges 6' of the outwardly folded edges of the upper truncopyramidal portion 3 and of the reinforcing peripheral rim 7, which are not joined to permit the element to be folded on one of the sheets 1 for transportation.
At the moment at which the element is suspended, it is opened up, the uncoupled edges 6' are coupled, for example, by clips, the suspension ring 8 is placed in the tube 12, and the element itself is suspended, as previously mentioned.
The suspended advertising element of the present invention, when compared with conventional systems, presents the following advantages:
It is easy to transport since it can be folded.
Hanging thereof is easy, rapid and safe and needs no pastes or troublesome elements, neither should ladders or the like be used.
It offers a greater publicity impact since it is visible from any angle and it is mobile, thereby attracting the public's attention.
It permits a greater variety of advertising effects due to its large side surface which also permits different advertising texts to be individualized on each face.
Claims (3)
1. Suspended advertising element, characterized in that is comprises four like sheets made of a light material resistant to atmospheric agents, capable of bearing advertising announcements and joined together at their outwardly folded edges, adopting a substantially hollow, cubic configuration ending upwardly in a truncopyramidal portion having an open upper base, the lower base of which is also open and provided at its edges with an inwardly folded reinforcing peripheral rim and including suspension means securely joined to the upper truncopyramidal portion by means of flexible strips.
2. Suspended advertsing element according to claim 1, characterized in that said suspension means is comprised of an open elastic ring formed of an essentially V-shaped bent rod, one of the legs of which is longer than the other and bent downwards at its end in a sharp angle in the form of a hook, the ring being closed on the outside of the other essentially rectilinear leg, so that the ends of the legs are adjacent each other, thus to hang the element it should be introduced at its vertex in a tube forcing both legs to come closer together, opening the ring and allowing the longer hook-shaped leg to be coupled at the appropriate site, and upon lowering of the tube, the hook is suspended and the ring is closed when the rectilinear leg returns to its V-position due to the resiliency of the spring formed at the vertex of the rod.
3. A suspended advertsing element substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to, and as illustrated in, the accompanying drawings.
