Description

SPECIFICATION Convenient disposal container The present invention relates to a convenient disposal container and in particular to a container for the disposal of garbage, which container is mountable within a vehicle.
In a vehicle the garbage will be lying around in the vehicle being unpleasant to look at and presenting a health hazard in the vehicle. If a plastic bag is used as a garbage container, the light plastic bag will be easily moved to inconvenient positions in the vehicle or even mislaid. On putting garbage in such a plastic bag, the bag must be manually held and opened for throwing something therein, thereby causing inconvenience for the user. Although an ash tray may be provided in a vehicle, the ash or cigarette butts deposited in the ash tray have often to be collected and removed which causes inconvenience and contamination to the user. A known garbage container such as that used domestically has a plastic bag for putting garbage therein. However, a variety of different types of garbage can be thrown into the container, the garbage not being separated into, for instance, combustible or incombustible garbage.
This mixture may increase the difficulty of the operation or the cost of public garbage treatment to separate the garbage materials into such different types.
The present invention provides a waste bin comprising a base, a support member mounted on said base, said support member having on at least one side thereof means for engaging a margin of a bag at or near its open end and at least one rotatable member, which is pivotally mounted with respect to the support member at a position below the means for engaging and can engage a second margin of the bag at its open end thereof, the rotatable member being rotatable between a first position, at which the bag is substantially closed and a second position at which the bag is held open by the rotatable member.
The present invention further provides a waste bin comprising: a support plate having spring-loaded clamps arranged to support two stacks of disposal bags, one on each side of the plate, and two hangers, the hangers being positioned to engage the respective stack of bags at a margin thereof; a base for mounting the support plate thereon; two rocker arms pivoted with respect to the support plate and being adapted to engage a bag in the respective stack to hold the respective bag open.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, one embodiment of the invention includes a support in the form of a plate 1, a base 2, two pivoted (rocker) arms 3 each being disposed on a respective side A, B of said supporting plate 1 and a plurality of instant disposal bags 4, 4a clamped on a respective side of said supporting plate 1.
Said supporting plate 1 is pivotably connected to a vertical base extension 22 of said base 2 by a hinge 11. Two springs 12 are provided to connect said plate onto said base 2 for resiliently standing said plate 1 on said base 2 and for pivotably folding said plate 1 with said base 2 (direction R). Four springloaded clamps 13 are provided on side A of said supporting plate 1 for clamping a stack of disposal bags 4 on said plate 1. Each clamp 13 is associated with a restoring spring 14to resiliently clamp the bags 4 against said plate 1. A clamp 13 is provided on another side B of said plate 1 for clamping another stack of disposal bags 4a thereon. The supporting plate 1 is provided on each side thereof with a protruding lug serving as a hanger 15 for hanging said bags 4 and 4a.Two top extensions 16, 16a are formed on the top portion of said supporting plate 1 to protect the user from accidental injurious contact with said hanger 15. The top extension on side B of said plate 1 is formed as a cigarette extinguishing extension 16aforthecigaretteC' held on the grooves 1 6c of a cigarette holder 1 6b extended above said extension 16a (Figure 5).
The base 2 comprises a horizontal platform 21, a vertical base extension 22 extended above said platform 21 for pivotably connecting said supporting plate 1. The horizontal platform 21 has a hollow portion thereunder and has a recess 21 a on one side thereof and a resilient button 21 b on another side thereof for engaging a fixing plate 24 inserted under said platform 21. The fixing plate 24 comprises a first extension 24a on one end thereof to engage with said recess 21a of said platform 21 and a second extension 24b to engage with an extension 21 c formed on said resilient button 21 b of said platform 21. The fixing plate 24 can be fixed on a casing of a hand brake H by means of adhesive or of screws as shown in Figure 6. The resilient button 21 b may be depressed to separate said plafform 21 from said fixing plate 24.The fixing plate 24 may also be extended with several brackets 24' as Figure 7 shown and fixed on a casing of a hand brake of a car.
Each rocker arm 3 is formed as an L shape and comprises a vertical arm portion 31 and a horizontal arm portion 32. The end of said vertical arm portion 31 is angled to form a pivot 31 a which is pivotably connected on the lower portion of said supporting plate 1 and will be stopped by a lower stop pin 33 when said arm 3 is pulled to the outermost extremity as Figure 2 shown. The arm portion 31 has an extending ball 31 b thereon to engage with the socket or ball hole 34a of an arcuated guiding plate 34 attached to said supporting plate 1. The horizontal arm portion 32 has a magnet 32a and a hanging nail 32b thereon so as to attach or hang the top extension 42 of said disposal bag 4, 4a.
The instant disposal bag 4 on side A of said supporting plate 1 may be made of, for example plastics or any other suitable material. The bag 4 is formed with two top extensions 41,42, one extension 41 being formed with a hanger hole 41 a to be held on said hanger 15 of said supporting plate 1 and another extension 42 being formed with a metallic collar 42b having a central hanging hole 42a to be held on said nail 32b or attracted to said magnet 32a of said arm 3. The bag is formed with two recessed folding lines 43 on both sides thereof so that said bag can be opened out so as to have a larger volume when full and can be folded when empty for storage.
The top extension 42 is always turned down for convenient opening of the bag in use. A wire 44 is provided on said bag for closing or binding said bag after being filled with materials.
The disposal bag 4a on side B of said plate 1 may be made of for example, aluminum foil or any other suitable incombustible material. The length of said bag 4a may be shorter than that of said bag 4. Hence, only one clamp 13 is required to clamp said bag 4a on said plate 1. The structure of said bag 4a is similar to that of said bag 4 but the wire 44 of the latter is absent in bag 4a.
When using the present invention, a plurality of said disposal bags 4 and 4a are held on a respective one of said hangers 15 on a respective side of said supporting plate 1. The outer top extension 42 having a hole 42a of said bag 4 is hung on the nail 32b of said rocker arm 3 or the metallic collar 42b on said top extension 42 is attracted by said magnet 32a formed on said arm 3. The arm 3 is pulled to open the bag for putting materials or garbage therein. The opening of said bag may be adjusted by sliding said arm 3 along said arcuate guiding plate 34. The arm 3 may be stopped by engaging the extending ball 31 b formed on said arm with the ball hole 34a on said guiding plate 34. After completely filling said bag, the bag can be removed from the plate 1 and can be bound by said wire 44. By repeating the abovementioned operation, the new bag can be prepared for next service. The arm 3 can be folded to close the bag opening to reduce the space. The bag 4a on side B can be filled with cigarette butts, ash or other combustibles. After being filled, the bag opening may be twisted to bind the bag for discarding. When a car is provided with the present invention, the garbage or cigarette butts will be put into a respective container for convenient usage and clean interior of the car. The present invention may also be used in larger vehicles or other suitable places.
Another preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown in Figures 8 and 9. Such a preferred embodiment is similar to the aforementioned embodiment. However, each side of said supporting plate 1 is provided with two clamps 13.
The top extension 16 can be labelled with two inscriptions or marks of which one mark of COMB 16d indicates that the combustibles should be put into the bag on that side and another mark INCOMB 16e indicates that the incombustibles should be put into the bag on the opposite side of said plate 1 for the convenience of separation or treatment of the materials or garbage as discussed herein before.
Two supporting legs 23, each having a pivot 23a, are pivotably connected under said horizontal platform 21. Said legs can be extended as Figure 8 shown for stabilizing the present invention. Said legs 23 can be folded as Figure 10 shown (direction R') to retract under said platform 21 and said plate 1 is folded in direction R to be stored in P as shown in Figure 11 for storage or handling.
The disposal container of the present invention has the following advantages over known containers: 1. The disposal bags 4, 4a are pre-hung on said supporting plate 1,which may be freely opened for fast and convenient operation.
2. The rocker arms may be slid along said guiding plate 34 for free adjustment of the bag opening and for optional stoppage on said plate 34 for convenient operation.
3. The plate 1 may be folded to reduce the overall size of the arrangement for storage or handling. The present invention is light and only occupies a small space suitable for its application.
4. The combustible and incombustible materials may be placed into a respective separate bag hung on a respective side of said supporting plate 1 for easier separation or treatment of the materials or garbage.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a convenient disposal container comprising a supporting plate, a base, two rocker arms each pivotedlyformed on both sides of the supporting plate and plurality of instant disposal bags respectively clamped on both sides of the supporting plate so that the combustible materials or garbage may be put into the disposal bag on one side of the supporting plate and the incombustible materials or garbage may be put into another side of the supporting plate for distinct classification of materials or convenient final treatment of garbage for the user in vehicle or in other places.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention further provides a convenient disposal container wherein the supporting plate is pivotablyformed on the base for standing the supporting plate for container use or for folding the supporting plate with the base for convenient storage or handling.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention further provides an instant folding disposal bag which comprises two top extensions so that one top extension of the bag is hung on the supporting plate and another top extension is held on the rocker arm for opening the disposal bag for container use or for folding the bag ready for service.
