Abstract

An adjustable piece of furniture comprises a covering of flexible material containing a filling formed of discrete particles the covering being provided with means whereby suction may be applied to the interior thereof so as to adjust the flexibility of the piece of furniture in use as required.

Description

SPECIFICATION Furniture By taking a piece of flexible material and folding it, seaming and darting or welding it either to itself or another piece of material, superior, light, simple furniture may be made for the club, the home, the hospital hostel, hotel and hostel and the field. This furniture may or may not require a firm base. its uses are wide, its comfort superb and its insulating qualities excellent when filled with polystyrene beads. The amount of filling required may be as variable as the design. The finished product is easily packed and transported. The flexibility of the finished article may also be altered by the use of suction devices. It requires few overhead expenditures in order to start production but it is probable that it will help complementary industries.
1. An adjustable piece of furniture comprising a covering of flexible material containing a filling formed of discrete particles, the covering being provided with means whereby suction may be applied to the interior thereof so as to adjust the flexibility of the piece of furniture in use as required.
2. An adjustable piece of furniture as claimed in claim 1 in which the filling consists of polystyrene beads.
3. An adjustable piece of furniture as claimed in claim 1 in which the amount of the filling is varied according to the design of the furniture.
4. An adjustable piece of furniture as claimed in claim 1 in which the furniture is produced by folding, seaming, darting or welding at least on a piece of flexible material.
5. An adjustable piece of furniture substantially as hereinbefore described.
