Abstract

The seatbelt clamp 2, is attached to a handle, 5, which, when pulled down brings the bent clamp shaft 2 into engagement with the belt 4. The engagement prevents rewinding of the belt, 4, during wear and thus reduces the pressure of the belt on the wearer. The engagement does not impede emergency operation of the belt. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Seat belt bridle The idea of the seat belt bridle is to stop the seat belt movement backwards when worn by vehicle personnel.
The bridle to be fitted behind the existing seat belt fixings. In operation it would not interfere with the main operation of the seat belt forward.
The object of the invention is to make it more comfortable and safer for vehicle personnel. At the moment a person has to release pressure from his or her body many times during a drive. A hand on the steering wheel bettern than on the belt.
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:- Sheet 1 Fig. 1 Part 1. A one piece base the design to be adaptable to fit behind existing seat belt front side panel fixings.
Fig. 1 Part 2. Shows shaft bent to give minimum contact on seat belt.
Fig. 1 Part 3. Adjustable stop.
Fig. 1 Part 4. Shows gap between base plate and shaft set to give minimum pressure to seat belt.
Fig. 1 Part 5. Shows OFF.
Fig. 1 Part 6. Shows ON.
Fig. 2 Part 7. Shows existing seat belt with invention fitted.
Fig. 2 Part 8. Shows seat belt automatic belt box.
.Fig. 2 Part 9. Shows seat belt.
Fig. 2 Part 10. Shows invention in open position.
Fig. 2 Part 11. Shows seat belt clearance from vehicle personnels body. By using open hand under seat belt then operate invention. Belt will remain loose on body, if body moves forward invention will operate.
Claims
1. A seat belt clamp designed to give minimum contact with seat belt.
2. The contact to be a pull OFF type.
3. Little resistance to main use of seat belt.
4. Hand under belt for clearance.
5. Invention adaptable to fit behind existing fittings.
6. ON and OFF indication.
7. Makes seat belt more comfortable to wear.
