Abstract

A series of suction cups or discs moulded in non-toxic flexible material on to one or both sides of a ridged, perforated strip or sheet, and easily detachable. The shape and size of the suction cups, thickness of base, and whether in different or uniform size per base varying according to function. These suckers are intended hygienically, temporarily and economically to hold in place: - living surfaces e.g. during surgery to avoid suturing, or cosmetically to lift sagging skin: - dressings clear of wounds or burns allowing air circulation to accelerate healing - dentures, spectacles, contact lenses: wigs, makeup or decorations without piercing or adhesives: - any smooth surfaces together without drying or smearing - and could be useful where lightness and reusability are a consideration e.g. in space, to anchor small articles in situ. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Succor A ridged, perforated strip of non-toxic, flexible material set on one or both sides with adjoining concave cups or disc: the width and thickness of the base strip, and depth and radii of cups or discs varying according to intended purpose.

A hygeinic removable adhesive for temporarilyi) joining two living surfaces together e.g.

a) suturing cuts or wounds without stitches b) holding flesh together without clamps c) taking the strain off sutures without tearing: ii) holding dressings over wounds or burns, where circulation of air is a consideration in healing: viz: 'line' dressing with smooth adhesive plaster or scotch tape, moisten and apply one face of SUCCOR to dressing and other to skin, press together: iii) lifting sagging skin or muscles, or changing appearance without surgery, SUCCOR being hidden under hairline: iv) holding new, loose or broken dentures comfortably and firmly in place: enabling dentures to be worn over extractions by cushioning gums from dental plate: relieving chafing of gums or inside of mouth from new dentures: padding and stabilising ill-fitting dentures: v) attaching appurtanances to face or body without piercing or possibly toxic adhesives v) e.g. false hair, makeup, decorations, flowers, these can easily be applied to a shaven surface and painlessly removed: vi) anchoring sliding spectacles, wigs, toupees, masks, microphones, monitoring devices: vii) keeping any smooth surface to any other without damage or smearing on removal e.g.

a) messages, cards, b) broken pieces in place while making repairs c) positioning light articles on sliding or inclined surfaces WORKING PRINCIPLE: Suction Viz: moisten discs and press to make a vacuum to apply: break vacuum to remove: ADVANTAGES: i) flexibility: adaptability: portability, re-usability: ii) ease of production, packaging and marketing: iii) works on a well understood principle which cannot be misused or abused: iv) fulfils a variety of needs in a new and more efficient way

1. a hygeinic product comprising a nontoxic perforated strip which has discs attached to one or both sides which can be used, or reused, for surgical purposes where present methods are inappropriate and/or inefficient

2. specific to surgical tapes or sheets of varied sizes as in claim 1 above

3. capable of a variety of applications in other fields as outlines in provisional specification attached
