Abstract
The apparatus comprises a plurality of garments, each garment being provided with a plurality of releasable fastenings, each of said fastenings being identified by a colour, number, symbol or other distinguishing feature, from other such fastenings on the same garment and on other garments, and means such as cards or dice for randomly selecting a fastening. The fastenings may be formed by releasable stitching or zips or may be of touch and close type. The garments may comprise briefs with nine releasable fastenings for male players and briefs with seven fastenings and bra with two fastenings for female players, the briefs being made up from the layout shown in Figure 1. There may be up to ten differently coloured garments (or sets of garments), each fastening being identified by a number from 1 to 9, the random selection means then comprising a deck of cards having ten suits identified by the respective colours and each numbered 1 to 9. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Game
The present invention relates to apparatus for playing a game.
According to the present invention there is provided apparatus for playing a game, the apparatus comprising a plurality of garments, each garment being provided with a plurality of releasable fastenings, each of said fastenings being identified by a colour, number, symbol or other distinguishing feature, from other such fastenings on the same garment and on other garments, and means for randomly selecting a fastening.
In use, each player puts on one or more of the garments. The random selection means are then used to identify one of the fastenings on a garment, which is then released. The random selection of fastenings then continues with the fastenings being released in accordance with the selection means. This continues until one player is left with a garment having a fastening which is unreleased and who is therefore the winner.
Preferably said selection means are cards or dice. More preferably they are cards. The cards may be of various numerical values or a combination of numerical values and other symbols or colours. Preferably they are a combination of colours and numbers.
Preferably each garment or set of garments has the same total number of fastenings to be released.
Preferably said garments are undergarments.
More preferably said garments are, for male competitors, briefs, and for female competitors briefs and bra.
Preferably the releasable fastening is formed by a row of releasable stitching.
In this case, preferably the stitching is of thread which includes markers randomly arranged along its length. In this case, when the particular fastening is selected, a tab attached to the end of the thread is pulled until the first marker appears.
This denotes the end of the pull formed a stage in the release of the fastening. If the same fastening is again selected, the tab is pulled until the next marker is exposed.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is an embodiment of a garment in accordance with the present invention;
Figure 2 is an embodiment of a second garment in accordance with the present invention; and
Figure 3 is a third embodiment of a garment in accordance with the present invention.
The accompanying drawings show the layout of a variety of garments in accordance with the present invention. The garments are formed from conventional material with rayon/polyester lightweight iron-on interlining. The garments shown in Figures 1 and 2 are briefs whilst that shown in Figure 3 is a bra.
To assemble a garment from the layout shown in Figures 1 and 2, the back panel A is sewn to B to form a belt loop. The panels are laid together as indicated in the diagram, and are sewn together with chain stitch with the material face up and starting from the back of the garment. The sewing finishes at the belt leaving an inch and a half of spare thread. This is attached to the garment with a numbered self-adhesive pull tag. The overhand on the seams on the inside of the garment front panels is cut and then folded over covering the stitching. The bond is then heated with an iron to seal it. The top half of the waist belt is folded over and heat-bonded to cover the stitching. The linings are heat-bonded to panels 7, 9 and 11. A is sewn to C, D to E, F to G, H to J, K to Z, with ripple elastic yarn, and similarly on the other side of the garment.A is then sewn to Z and C is sewn to Y with ripple elastic yarn. It should be noted that no panel is sewn together except the lining to its appropriate panel. The belt is threaded through the back panel and the garment is then ready to wear.
To assemble the garment shown in Figure 3 of the accompanying drawings, which is made in a similar material to that of the garments described earlier, the cups 31 are cut out with the heatbonded side uppermost. The shoulder straps 33 are heat-bonded to the cups 31 and the cups 31 are sewn to a base loop 35 by means of chain stitching. A pull tag 37 is attached to the upper end of the stitching 39. The peripheral edges of the cut and the centre of the shoulder straps are sewn with elastic thread. The base strap 35 is then threaded through loops in the end of the shoulder straps 33 and the garment is ready for wear.
To play the game, from two to ten players are required. Each male player dons a pair of briefs in which there are nine releasable fastenings. Each female player dons a pair of briefs with seven releasable fastenings and a bra with two releasable fastenings. Each player is identified by a colour on the garments, the available colours being black, white, red, blue, yellow, green, brown, pink, purple, and orange. Each releasable fastenings on the garments worn by the player is identified by a number of 1 to 9. There is provided a deck of cards having ten suits identified by each of the above colours and numbered 1 to 9 with each suit. The cards are placed together, shuffled, and stacked face down on a table. A coin is tossed to decide which player has first move, which player then turns over the top card. The card will indicate a colour and a number, identifying a particular releasabie fastening, on a particular player's garments. The corresponding tag is then pulled, so releasing the fastening. This continues with the players turning the cards in turn. The winner is the player with the last fastening retained whilst all the other players have all their fasteners released.
In alternative embodiments of the invention, spectators could take part in lotteries with either forecast cards or Bingo cards which would be filled in according to the cards turned over.
The releasable fastenings may be of any form such as, in the above embodiment, a releasable stitching, or in alternative embodiments fastenings such as zips, or using sealing means such as miniature hooks and eyes as in the material "Velcro" (R.T.M.).
In another embodiment in accordance with the present invention the scoring is accomplished by means of a marked thread and dark marks on the cotton measure the length of each pull.
