Abstract

The basic idea of the shrouded Hasp and Staple is to protect the top of the padlock and that part of the Hasp and Staple through which the padlock fits from attack from such implements as crow-bars hacksaws bolt cutters etc; by giving these parts a protecting shroud (ABC) It is appreciated that there are various types of Hasp and Staples (F) with their relative fixing methods as well as different types of padlocks. This in turn affects the shape and size of the shroud. The drawing shows two possible types:- integral and detachable. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Shrouded hasp s staple Unlike the Normal hasp s Staple the main feature of the shrouded Hasp 8 Staple is to protect the top of the padlock a that part of the hasp a staple through which the padlock fits, from attack from such implements as crow bars hacksaws, bolt cutters etc; by giving these parts a protecting shroud.
It is apprectated that there are various types of Hasp a Staple with their relative fixing methods to doors 8 or frames, as well as different types of padlocks, door openings and methods of hoiding the iock in position. Bearing this in mind the drawing gives details of 2 basic types: Type 1. Shows the shroud as an integral part of the Hasp and staple as fitted to a pair of sliding doors.
Type 2. Shows a detachable shroud where by the staple of a conventional Hasp a Staple fits through the slot in the back of the device before applying the lock.
The finished shape a size is dependant upon, as previously stated-type a size of Hasp s Staple-padlock a door opening In some cases it may not be necessary (but desireable from the strength point of view) to fit all shrouds A.B.C. (see drawing)
CLAIMS The idea and design of protecting the Hasp Staple and Lock or any such device by shrouding it in such a manner as to offer it protection from attack from such implements as crow bars hacksaws bolt cutters etc
