Player - pianos; actions; wind-trunks; winding-mechanism; expression-controlling. -In a player grand piano, a removable drawer carrying the player mechanism slides beneath the key-bed, the strikers being operative in both the concealed and exposed positions of the tune-sheet. The drawer 16 slides on rollers and carries the spool-box 39, tune-sheet motor, playing-pneumatics 22, expression-control mechanisms 38, tempo-box, pneumatics for re-roll, replay, and to operate an electric cut-off switch, and the control levers and buttons. Connection to main suction is by a telescopic conduit 30. Each playing-pneumatic 22 operates a spindle 24 connected to a pivoted arm 25 carrying a head 27, Fig. 5, which in any position of the drawer will engage a longitudinal coupler-lever 11 with offset ends pivotally carried in bearings 12<1>. A stop 11<a> supports the coupler-levers 11 when the drawer is removed. On the levers 11 rest rods 8 which when raised by the levers 11 swinging upwards, operate the keys 4. The parts 46, 47 of the bottom of the drawer may be removed to adjust respectively stops 28 on the playing-pneumatic spindle 24 and devices 48 regulating theexpression mechanisms 38 whilst the instrument is in operation.
