Abstract

An index card for a cassette tape or the like is formed of a vinyl sheet or the like, a Japanese paper (made from pholem fabric such as paper mulberry or the like), a cloth, or a nonwoven fabric. The index card can be suitable for insertion into a cassette tape case or for direct attachment to the cassette.

Description

SPECIFICATION An index card for a cassette tape or the like This invention relates to an index card for a cassette tape or the like set in a case for housing an audio cassette tape or a video cassette tape for V.T.R. therein, or attached to a certain position thereof.
Heretofore, such kinds of index cards generally consist of thick and ordinary papers with printed lines ruled thereon, most of said index cards being undurable for a long period of use due to causes such as dirt and wear and tear. The ordinary paper in this case means a printing paper of a machinemade paper in which kaolines are generally added or which are coated with said kaolines thereon for strengthening a white color.
With a view to providing an enhanced index card this invention seeks to provide an index card for a cassette tape or the like which is easy to use and which has good durability and is formed of a material which does not easily soil or tear.
According to the present invention there is provided an index card for a cassette tape or the like, said index card being formed with a chemical sheet such as a vinyl sheet etc., a Japanese paper, a cloth, or a nonwoven fabric.
Embodiments of the present invention will now be described by way of example only and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figures 1 (a), (b) and (c) are perspective views illustrating a cassette tape, an index card and a case respectively, and Figure 2 is a perspective view of a further embodiment of the present invention.
Referring now to the drawings, the index card Figure 1 (b) is made of a Japanese paper (made from pholem fiber such as paper mulberry or the like), a cloth, a nonwoven fabric etc.
The index card of Figure 1 (b) is suitable for a cassette tape and does not tear easily, being different from that of the conventional thick and ordinary paper, and has an excellent durability since it is formed with a chemical sheet such as a vinyl sheet or the like which is not easily soiled, a Japanese paper, a cloth, and a nonwoven fabric.
In order to investigate susceptibility to tearing an exposure test was performed at a constant temperature and humidity of 98% R.H. at 50 c for 4 hours.
The results were that the ordinary paper was found to lose elasticity against bending after the lapse of 3 hours and was found to expand at the end portion thereof at the end of the test, while the paper used by the embodiment of the present invention did not exhibit any change even at the end of the test.
The ruled lines and/or the designs to be applied to the index card are very easily printed on an index card formed from a vinyl sheet or the other identifiable materials. Also since the index card has fiber patterns or the like, it is effective as a design.
Apart from the above described index card used in relation to the cassette case, the index card of the present invention is also suitable for attachment directly onto the cassette, as shown by Figure 2.
Further embodiments of this invention comprise an index card consisting of a core made of the ordinary paper and a chemical sheet such as the vinyl sheet or the like which covers said core.
Another alternative is the use of the ordinary paper which is subjected to a laminate working thereon, although the cost of this alternative is relatively high.
1. An index card for a cassette tape or the like, said index card being formed with a chemical sheet such as a vinyl sheet etc., a Japanese paper, a cloth, or a nonwoven fabric.
2. An index card for a cassette tape or the like according to claim 1, wherein the index card comprises a core made of the ordinary paper and a chemical sheet such as a vinyl sheet or the like which covers said core.
3. An index card for a cassette tape or the like according to claim 1, said index card consisting of the ordinary paper subjected to a laminate working thereon.
4. An index card for a cassette tape substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
