A radio receiver and intercom apparatus comprises an antenna (A), a selector switch (S) relative to the antenna (A) for operation selection, a radio receiver having a tuning device (D), an amplifier (E) coupled with the tuning device (D), and a loudspeaker (F) matched with the amplifier (E); and a radio transmitting device having a transmitter (B) and a wireless microphone (C) coupled with the transmitter (B), incorporated into the radio receiver. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Radio receiver and intercom apparatus This invention relates to a novel radio receiver and intercom apparatus for performing both functions of a normal radio receiver set and a wireless transceiver set.
In the conventional radio receiver set, functions are only confined in receiving broadcasting programs from radio stations, or in some cases, in serving as a single public addressing set or as an Hi-Fi unit for musical entertainment. With such limited usage and simple operation, the conventional radio receiver set has greatly reduced its value in the entertaining field.
According to the present invention, it is provided an apparatus having a radio transmitter incorporated into a radio receiver set for increasing the effect of entertainment.
The object of this invention is to provide a radio receiver with a radio transmitter incorporated therein with, at least, a certain frequency being shared by both the radio receiver and the radio transmitter so that, in addition to receiving the normal broadcasting programs from radio stations, it can perform radio intercom functions as well.
An embodiment of the invention is described hereunder in some detail with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a block schematic diagram illustrating a simple structure and operational relations of the invention, and Figure 2 is a three-dimensional view of the apparatus assemble embodying this invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, a radio receiver and intercom apparatus according to the embodiment of this invention comprises an antenna A, a selector switch S relative to the antenna A for operation selection between point a and point b; a radio receiver having a tuner D, an amplifier E coupled with the tuner D, and a loudspeaker F matched with the amplifier E; and a radio transmitter having a transmitting element B and a microphone C coupled with the transmitting element B, incorporated into the radio receiver. When the selector switch S is held on point b, the elements of A, S, D, E, and F constitute a complete radio receiver circuit for receiving the broadcasting programs from radio stations. In addition, this radio receiver circuit also performs the function of intercom receiving operations.When the selector switch S is held on point a, a radio transmitter circuit is completed through the elements of A, S, B, and C, relative to the radio receiver circuit D, E, and F.
For the sake of clarity, some parts of this apparatus such as power source, frequency selection, etc., are omitted. In addition, the microphone C and the loudspeaker F can be a single unit.
Referring to Fig. 2, the assembly of the embodiment according to this invention comprises an antenna 9, a wave band scale 1 with a frequency indicator 7 on the upper side for radio receiver operations and a frequency indicator 8 on the lower side for radio transmitter operation; a volume control 10 relative to both the radio receiver and the radio transmitter; a tuning knob 5 for radio receiving operation, a tuning knob 6 for radio transmitting operation, a transmitting switch 4, which when pressed down, will shut off the normal radio receiving channel and activate the radio transmitter for intercon operation; a power switch 11 for providing the power source required for both the radio receiver and the radio transmitter; a wave-band selector 1 2 for radio receiver operations, a built-in microphone 3 for transmitting operations; and a loudspeaker 2 for producing sound either for the radio receiver or for the radio transmitter as the operation dictates. With two sets of this apparatus, intercom operations such as twoway talking, mutual calling for playing or for emergency action, communicating during mountain climbing, etc., can be performed conveniently.
Furthermore, the radio transmitting elements a, B, and C, as illustrated in Fig. 1, can be built as a separate unit and properly received in the radio receiver so that the radio transmitter can be taken apart from the radio receiver for separate transmitting operation and put back again to the rasio receiver for carrying purpose.
While a preferred embodiment has been chosen to illustrate this invention, it will be understood by thos skilled in the art that various changes and modifications can be made therein without departing from the scope of this invention as defined in the
appended claims.
CLAIMS 1. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus comprising an antenna, a selector switch relative to the antenna for operation selection, a radio receiver for receiving normal broadcasting programs from radio stations, and a radio transmitting device incorporated into the radio receiver for performing intercom operations.
2. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said radio receiver and said radio transmitting device share, at least, a certain frequency thereof for intercom operations.
3. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said radio receiver can perform receiving function for intercom operation in addition to receiving normal broadcasting programs from radio stations.

SPECIFICATION Radio receiver and intercom apparatus This invention relates to a novel radio receiver and intercom apparatus for performing both functions of a normal radio receiver set and a wireless transceiver set. In the conventional radio receiver set, functions are only confined in receiving broadcasting programs from radio stations, or in some cases, in serving as a single public addressing set or as an Hi-Fi unit for musical entertainment. With such limited usage and simple operation, the conventional radio receiver set has greatly reduced its value in the entertaining field. According to the present invention, it is provided an apparatus having a radio transmitter incorporated into a radio receiver set for increasing the effect of entertainment. The object of this invention is to provide a radio receiver with a radio transmitter incorporated therein with, at least, a certain frequency being shared by both the radio receiver and the radio transmitter so that, in addition to receiving the normal broadcasting programs from radio stations, it can perform radio intercom functions as well. An embodiment of the invention is described hereunder in some detail with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a block schematic diagram illustrating a simple structure and operational relations of the invention, and Figure 2 is a three-dimensional view of the apparatus assemble embodying this invention. Referring to Fig. 1, a radio receiver and intercom apparatus according to the embodiment of this invention comprises an antenna A, a selector switch S relative to the antenna A for operation selection between point a and point b; a radio receiver having a tuner D, an amplifier E coupled with the tuner D, and a loudspeaker F matched with the amplifier E; and a radio transmitter having a transmitting element B and a microphone C coupled with the transmitting element B, incorporated into the radio receiver. When the selector switch S is held on point b, the elements of A, S, D, E, and F constitute a complete radio receiver circuit for receiving the broadcasting programs from radio stations. In addition, this radio receiver circuit also performs the function of intercom receiving operations.When the selector switch S is held on point a, a radio transmitter circuit is completed through the elements of A, S, B, and C, relative to the radio receiver circuit D, E, and F. For the sake of clarity, some parts of this apparatus such as power source, frequency selection, etc., are omitted. In addition, the microphone C and the loudspeaker F can be a single unit. 1. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus comprising an antenna, a selector switch relative to the antenna for operation selection, a radio receiver for receiving normal broadcasting programs from radio stations, and a radio transmitting device incorporated into the radio receiver for performing intercom operations.
2. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said radio receiver and said radio transmitting device share, at least, a certain frequency thereof for intercom operations.
3. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said radio receiver can perform receiving function for intercom operation in addition to receiving normal broadcasting programs from radio stations.
4. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said radio transmitting device can be taken apart from said radio receiver for separate transmitting operation and put back to said radio receiver as a single unit for carrying purpose.
5. A radio receiver and intercom apparatus substantially as hereinafter described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
