Description

SPECIFICATION Portable gas cooker with dismountable elements The present invention relates to portable gas cookers combined with a pressurized gas supply being a tank or a cartridge.
Such gas cookers are known with a collar centred on the top of the tank by means ofvertical small bars rigidly set with respect to said circle and which correspond in shape to the external form of the wall of the tank. These small bars extend upwards and are welded or riveted to a wind-guard basin in which undismountable supports for pans are fixed.
It is easily conceivable that the whole gas cooker constitutes therefore a bulky article compared with its reduced weight. Consequently the dispatch of such gas cookers is very expensive due to the important volume of packing.
The improvements which form the object of the present invention aim at overcoming these drawbacks and obtaining a portable gas cooker ofthis kind whose small bars supporting the basin are mounted to pivot with respect to the collar in order to come in its plane after separation of the basin and supports from these small bars.
The portable gas cooker according to the invention comprises a collar which is centred on the top of a gas container intended for the gas supply of the apparatus, the collar being fitted with legs supporting a wind-guard screen having a basin-shape which the burner crosses through. Some supports for pans are placed in the inner of the basin and the collar is combined with the legs in a pivoting manner, a portion of which legs co-operates with the wall of the tank while its upper end supports in a dismountable way the basin and supports made in form of three independant radiating arms.
The accompanying drawing which is given by way of example will enable the invention, its features and advantages to be better understood: Fig. 1 is an expandable view of a gas cooker according to the invention and placed above a gas tank fitted with a burner.
Fig. 2 is a view of the assembly fitted.
Fig. 3 is a partial section at a larger scale of the setting of the legs together with the basin and the arms supporting the containers.
The gas cooker according to the invention is intended to be placed on the top of a tank 1, whose centre is fitted with a burner 2 comprising a needlevalve 3 operated by a knob 3a.
The gas cooker according to the invention comprises a frame made from a circular collar 4, whose diameter is inferior to the one of the tank 1 in order to have it resting on the shoulder la of said tank.
The collar comprises three axles 5, each being advantageously shaped in a rivet whose body a support 6 can pivot around. Each support comprises a leg 6a connected by an oblique piece 6b with a vertical branch 6c whose inferior portion is crossed by the rivet 5. It is to be noted that the oblique piece 6b of each support 6 is divergent so as to rest against the external surface of the tank 1 and more particularly on the connection between its shoulder la and its side face 1b. The collar is thus perfectly stable when resting on the tank.
The upper portion of each support 6 is horizontally curved to form a bracket 6d orientated towards the centre of the collar. When the three supports 6 are vertical, the three brackets constitute a plane on which the flat bottom 7a of a wind-guard basinshaped screen 7 can be placed. Its bottom 7a comprises a circular opening 7b in the middle and the burner 2 crosses said opening. The bottom 7a is also fitted with holes 7c which are to be placed in front of borings 6e provided in the brackets 6d. It is again to be noted, but the drawing is quite clear in this matter, that the supports 6 are equally distant from each other around the collar 4 in such a way that they are actually orientated at 120" with respect to each other It is the same with the holes 7c of the bottom 7a of the basin 7.
Finally it is provided to place three radiating arms inside the basin in order to bear the pans. Each of them comprises at first a hook8a intended to cooperate with the edge of the basin and whose oblique flange is connected to an horizontal portion 8b constituting effectively the support of the pan, said horizontal portion extending by a vertical branch 8d whose lower part is horizontally curved to form an ear Se. A hole 8f is pierced in the latter. The distance between the hook 8a and the ear Se is so that the ear can rest against the inside face of the bottom 7a of the basin 7 when its hooks co-operates with the outside edge of said basin.Under these conditions, the hole 8f of the ear Se and those 6e of the bracket 6d and 7c of the bottom of the basin 7 are facing each other. A screw 9 can therefore be engaged to cross all of them so as to screw a nut 10 on the part of this screw beyond the bracket 6d. Of course the radiating arms 8 are placed at 120 with respect to each other in order that their horizontal portions 8b can constitute an excellent bearer for containers and can be placed in extension of the supports 6.
A gas cooker according to the invention has been illustrated in a fitted state on fig. 2; it can be observed the stable position of the collar relatively to the tank 1.
The detail of fig. 3 illustrutesthe above cited fixing of the supports 6 and radiating arms 8 when assembled to the basin. It can be observed that the opening 7b of the basin is surrounded by a flanged edge intended to improve rigidity of said basin. This figure also allows a precise illustration of the way in which the bottom 7a of the basin 7 is pinched between the bracket 6d of each support 6 and the ear ear 8e of each corresponding radiating arm 8.
To enable the dispatch or stocking of the gas cookers according to the invention, the screws 9 and nuts 10 are firstly dismounted to separate the radiating arms 8, the basin 7 and the collar 4. Then each support 6 is made pivoting around its axle 5 in direction of the arrows in order to bring said support in the plane of the collar 4. For this purpose the bracket 6d is short enough to have its end placed adjacent to the outside face of the collar 4. The radiating arms 8 can afterwards be easily put around the collar in such a way that they do not increase the volume of packing. Concerning the basins they can be piled up one in the other so that quite a number of gas cookers can be dispatched in a relatively reduced packing. Of course it is necessary to take care of placing in the packing screws and nuts used for the assembly of gas cookers.
