Abstract

Blocks actin on drums.-In a rake of the kind comprising brake shoes @lapted to be moved radially into enggement with the interior of a drum by a cam coaxial with the drum, the shoes 10 are carried eah by a rod 2 guided 1 a spider 1 secured @ a fixed back plate, the rods having also shoes 8 which ride on cams' formed on a boss provided with gear teeth 6 enaged by a pinion 5 whereby the cam member can be turned to apply the shoes to the drum. Springs 9 urge the shoes 8 into contact with the cams.
