Abstract
The Bite detector comprises a block of material having a bore therethrough for receiving a fishing line and having a slot on an upper surface dimensioned so as to press fit onto a fishing rod. In use the detector is attached to a rod and the fishing line threaded therethrough. After casting, the detector is detached from the the rod and thereby is suspended on the line. A bite on the line will result in an upward movement of the detector.
Description
SPECIFICATION
Fitt-on bite detector
The Bite Detector consists of a circular or squate block of approximately 3" wide X 1 thick X 4" deep, with a 2" bore hole through centre, and a slot of i" wide X 1 deep at top of Detector (these dimensions can be smaller or larger according to type of reel and rod used) the Detector will then slot onto most fishing rods.
The Bite Detector is then pushed onto the fishing rod into any position between the fishing eyes as required by the user, the line is then threaded from the reel through the fishing eye and picking up with the thread through centre of the Bite Detector and then through remainder of fishing eyes.
When casting out the Bite Detector is fitted to the rod, after casting the rod, the rod is then placed on the rod-rest, slack line is retracted, the Bite Detector is pulled from the rod to suspend from the line at any required position. When a fish has taken the bait the
Bite Detector is then pushed back onto the rod to retrieve the fish.
The Bite Detector can be produced from
Polystyrene, Balsa wood, cork or any light
weight plastics.
