Abstract

A price ticket comprises a single piece self-supporting stand 1 having a base portion 2, a stem part 3 and a display surface part 4. The stem 3 is bent through an approximate right- angle with respect to the base 2 at an embossed crease line 5. Applied to the surface part 4 of the stand is a background (vinyl) display sheet 6 of which the rear surface is adhesive-coated forming a permanent bonded connection with surface 4, and the front surface is, at least in part, highly polished. The highly polished surface of the sheet 6 receives a readily-changable pricing component 7 of a flexible sort PVC material (self-cling vinyl) which has a highly polished rear surface causing it to adhere or cohere to the selected region of sheet 6 when pressed in position. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Merchandise pricing tickets This invention relates to merchandise pricing tickets and is primarily concerned with the pricing of foodstuffs in a shop window or other display such as a counter.

An object of this invention is to provide a set of components which can be made up into price tickets according to particular needs arising and comprising a ticket with a permanent background part and a replaceable display part, both selectable by the user.

According to this invention there is provided a merchandise pricing ticket set comprising: (i) a support stand of a rigid or semi-rigid self-supporting material with a display surface, (ii) a flexible background sheet being adhesively coated on the one surface and with the other surface highly polished and including printed display matter thereon, and (iii) a pricing component having one surface highly polished and capable of releasably adhering or cohering to the other surface of the back-ground sheet and including printed display matter thereon, the background sheet being permanently securable by the adhesive coated surface to the display surface of the stand and serving to carry the pricing component on the other surface in a defined location.

Preferably the set of this invention will comprise a number of support stands of plain plastics material, with a number of background sheets each having appropriate basic informatory wording or legends and carried by the adhesive coated surface on a support surface from which the sheets are easily releasable. A user may then select the appropriate wording on a sheet and then place same on a support stand to which a permanent adhesive connection is made. This obviates the necessity for having each stand printed individually and does not require a stock of pre-printed stands, some of which may be unnecessary in the particular display. This easily stored adhesive background sheets are applied as required from a stock album to thereafter from a permanent display ticket.

Individual variable display matter such as the price is carried by the separate pricing component which again is storable easily in an album and this is removably attached to the background sheet. This component may be of a highly polished soft PVC material, so-called "self-cling" vinyl, whereas the background is of an adhesively coated vinyl.

An embodiment of the invention is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawings, wherein: Figure 1 shows a made-up pricing ticket in front view, Figure 2 shows a section on A-A of Figure 1, and Figure 3 shows a stock of tickets.

Referring to the drawings, a price ticket comprises a single piece self-supporting stand 1 having a base portion 2, a stem part 3 and a display surface part 4.

The stem 3 is bent through an approximate rightangle with respect to the base 2 at an embossed crease line 5. The stand 1 is plain, that is it carries no printing directly thereon.

Applied.to the surface part 4 of the stand is a background display sheet 6 of which the rear surface is adhesive coated forming a permanent bonded connection with surface 4, and the front surface is, at least in part, highly polished. The sheet 6 may be of a PVC material and is selected by the user according to requirements from an album in which the sheets are mounted on a backing paper easily releasable from the adhesive.

The highly polished surface of the sheet 6 receives a pricing component 7 of a flexible soft PVC material which has a highly polished rear surface causing it to adhere or cohere to the selected region of sheet 6 when pressed in position. The component 7 is, nevertheless, easily removable and can be changed without affecting the sheet 6.

The components 7 may be contained in an album on sheets of highly polished PVC, facilitating easy removal and replacement and storage.

Figure 3 shows how the complete pricing ticket may be easily and completely stacked for storage.

The one piece construction of the stand which does not require added parts to mechanically hold or display prices is hygenic and easily cleaned and it also facilitates ready stacking when not in use.

A merchanise pricing ticket set comprising: (i) a support stand of a rigid or semi-rigid self-supporting material with a display surface, (ii) a flexible background sheet being adhesively coated on the one surface and with the other surface highly polished and including printed display matter thereon, and (iii) a pricing component having one surface highly polished and capable of releasably adhering or cohering to the other surface of the background sheet and including printed display matter thereon, the background sheet being permanently securable by the adhesive coated surface to the display surface of the stand and serving to carry the pricing component on the other surface in a defined location.

A merchandise price ticket set according to Claim 1, comprising a number of support stands of plain plastics material, with a number of background sheets each having appropriate basic informatory wording or legends and carried by the adhesive coated surface on a support surface from which the sheets are easily releasable.

3. A merchandise price ticket set according to Claim 2, wherein a number of pricing components are included stored in an album, the components comprising soft PVC material.

4. A merchandise price ticket set according to any preceding claim, wherein the support stand has a display surface carried by a stem, the stem having a base integral therewith.

1. A merchanise pricing ticket set comprising: (i) a support stand of a rigid or semi-rigid self-supporting material with a display surface, (ii) a flexible background sheet being adhesively coated on the one surface and with the other surface highly polished and including printed display matter thereon, and (iii) a pricing component having one surface highly polished and capable of releasably adhering or cohering to the other surface of the background sheet and including printed display matter thereon, the background sheet being permanently securable by the adhesive coated surface to the display surface of the stand and serving to carry the pricing component on the other surface in a defined location.

A merchandise price ticket set according to Claim 1, comprising a number of support stands of plain plastics material, with a number of background sheets each having appropriate basic informatory wording or legends and carried by the adhesive coated surface on a support surface from which the sheets are easily releasable.

3. A merchandise price ticket set according to Claim 2, wherein a number of pricing components are included stored in an album, the components comprising soft PVC material.

4. A merchandise price ticket set according to any preceding claim, wherein the support stand has a display surface carried by a stem, the stem having a base integral therewith.

5. A merchandise price ticket set as described herein and with reference to the drawings.
