Selectively controlling grassy weeds in the presence of rice by applying to the weeds or their habitats a herbicidally effective amount of certain compounds such as 2-(4-((3-chl-5-(trifluoromethyl)2-pyridinyl)oxy)ph-N-(3,5-dimethylphen yl)propanamide.
