Abstract

A key is pushed from a container by a spring on release of a push-button. Rocking catches secure the key in forward and rear positions. Several holders may be joined side-to-side. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Spring loaded key container for car and household use The object of this invention is to enable keys, especially car and household keys to be carried in a smart neat container, and released by pressing the button at side of container. The key being released locks in the fully extended position. It is then used to open/lock any car/household lock or any other situation where keys are used.
The container described here is capable of being joined to others one on top of the other so that up to six keys can be contained together, each operated by side buttons.
The container is finished and decorated in the same way as cigarette lighters are, so that the owner has a set of keys in a smart sophisticated container that can be carried neatly in pocket or handbag.
After use each key is pushed back into its container and locks in the hold position.
1. This design enables a key to be carried in a compact container in which the key is out of sight.
The container is of such a size that it can easily be carried in pocket or handbag, and the outer surface is decorated and finished in exactly the same way and variety as cigarette lighters are at present, in plastic and metal.
2. A number of containers can be joined together so that up to four keys can be carried. The key is operated by pushing a button at edge of container which releases a cam holding the key, allowing the key to be propelled by a spring, so that it protrudes beyond the container. The key locks in this position by releasing side button and is used in the normal way to operate any lock.
3. After use the key is returned into the container by depressing button and pushing on end of key with finger or edge of flat surface. When fully depressed the key will lock in hold position by releasing side button.

SPECIFICATION Spring loaded key container for car and household use The object of this invention is to enable keys, especially car and household keys to be carried in a smart neat container, and released by pressing the button at side of container.
