Abstract

Device for adjusting the longitudinal position of the seat of a motor vehicle or similar, as well as for adjusting the inclination of the back (6) swivellably mounted on the seat with a locking device. The locking device includes a first locking stud (4), actuated by an electromagnet (3) or similar, engaging one of the notches (7) formed on a element [notch ring (2)] fixed on the back (6) and a second locking stud (13) cooperating with one of the slot (22) provided on the guide (18) of the seat, which may be moved out of the interlocking position by the action of a cam (14) provided on the element with the notches [notch ring (2)] or by another electromagnet or similar. <IMAGE>
