Abstract
A container for printed matter or stationery is open in its upper zone to give access to its content and is produced by folding a sheet material provided with corresponding cuts and folding edges. The sheet material is subdivided into at least two panels forming the front (1) and back (2) walls of the container at folding. The panels are connected to one another by at least one portion forming the bottom (3) of the container at folding. The panel forming the back wall (2) of the container is arranged at least partially within the area of the panel forming the front wall (1) of the container and the portion forming the bottom (3) of the container is arranged wholly within that area. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Container for printed matter or stationery
The invention relates to a container for printed matter, stationery or the like, in particular cards, brochures and prospectus, which is open in its upper zone to give access to its content and is produced by folding a sheet material provided with corresponding cuts and folding edges.
It is the object of the invention to provide a container which is particularly easy to produce, universally applicable, and may be fixed in a simple manner to any given support.
This object is achieved according to the invention in a container of the type initially described by subdividing the sheet material into at least two panels forming the front and back walls of the container at folding, the panels being connected to one another by at least one portion forming the bottom of the container at folding, with the panel forming the back wall of the container being arranged at least partially within the panel forming the front wall of the container and the portion forming the bottom of the container arranged wholly with the panel forming the front wall of the container.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the panel forming the back wall of the container is provided on its upper rim with at least one collapsible holding flap for fastening or suspending the container on a support.
It is practical to at least partially provide the holding flap with a layer of adhesive.
It is further of advantage to provide the holding flap with at least two spacially arranged recesses for attaching the container to the projections of a support.
It is of advantage in this to provide the recesses directly at the folding edge connecting the holding flap to the back wall of the container.
The invention is explained in detail under
reference to the drawing showing an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows the sheet material forming the
container and
Fig. 2 shows the container formed by folding the sheet material according to Fig. 1.
The transparent sheet material illustrated in Fig.
1, consisting of hard polyvinyl chloride, is subdivided into two panels 1, 2 forming the front and back walls of the container at folding. Panels
1, 2 are connected by a portion 3 forming the bottom of the container at folding. Panel 2 forming the back wall of the container is arranged partially within panel 1 forming the front wall of the container, panel 3 being provided with a
tongue-shaped extension 2' engaging a U-shaped
section 1' of panel 1. Portion 3, which connects
the front wall 1 to the back wall 2, is of the same
width as extension 2' and section 1' and is
arranged wholly with panel 1. The folding edges
connecting portion 3 to panels 1 and 2 bear the
reference numbers 4 and 5.
Rim portions 6, 7 connecting panels 1, 2 via
folding edges 8, 9 and forming lateral stops for the material to be stored in the container are provided on the upper rims of the U-shaped section 1'.
Panel 2 forming the back wall of the container is provided on its upper rim with a collapsible or foldable holding flap or the like 10. The holding flap 10 is provided with a strip-shaped adhesive layer 11 and with two spacially arranged, semicircular recesses 1 2. The adhesive layer 11 is arranged on that rim of the holding flap 10 which faces away from panel 2 and the recesses 1 2 are arranged directly on the folding edge 13 connecting the holding flap 10 to the panel 2. By means of the adhesive layer 11 and the recesses
12, the container can optionally be glued to a support or suspended on projections provided on the support. Such projections are provided on display baskets or shelves in the shops.A slot 14 extends from each recess 12 to the adjacent rim of the container or of the holding flap 10. The slots
14 extend in extension of the folding edge 1 3 and serve for clamping the container for instance to the price rail of a display basket.
Fig. 2 shows that in producing the container by folding the sheet material according to Fig. 1, panel 1 forming the front wall of the container is folded down in the front, so that the front wall is then connected to the back wall 2 by the bottom 3
and the rim portions 6, 7.
Suitable working materials in addition to hard polyvinyl chloride are other plastics materials or paper.
1. Container for printed matter or stationery, which is open in its upper zone to give access to its content and is produced by folding a sheet material provided with corresponding cuts and folding edges, characterised in that the sheet material is subdivided into at least two panels forming the front and back walls of the container at folding, the panels being connected to one another by at least one portion forming the bottom of the container at folding, and that the panel forming the back wall of the container is arranged at least partially within the panel forming the front wall of the container and the portion forming the bottom of the container is arranged wholly within the panel forming the front wall of the container.
2. Container according to claim 1, wherein the panel forming the back wall of the container is provided on its upper rim with at least one collapsible holding flap for fastening or suspending the container on a support.
3. Container according to claim 2, wherein the holding flap is at least partially provided with a layer of adhesive.
4. Container according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the holding flap is provided with at least two spacially arranged recesses for attaching the container to the projections of a support.
5. Container according to claim 4, wherein the recesses are provided directly at the folding edge connecting the holding flap to the back wall of the container.
