Abstract

The device comprises at least one closed container formed from flexible, substantially inextensible sheet material, said container being shaped to permit compression thereof by two portions of a human body and being partially pressurised with fluid, the container being formed into at least two compartments 14, 15 or 241, 242, 251, 252, each of which is in direct fluid communication with at least one other compartment via at least one passage 16 or 26 such that pressing down of one compartment by a first human body portion (particularly a leg) increases the volume of the other compartment(s) to thereby move the second human body portion. In a further embodiment, a plurality of two-compartment containers are joined together by means of "spacers" of sheet material or by adjustable belts. <IMAGE>
