Tickets, holding and issuing.-A number of rolls 8 of strip-tickets are contained in compartments 3 in the rear part of the machine, the rolls being supported on rollers 4, 5, and the strips being led to the issuing slot over guide rollers 7; rollers 6 serve as abutments for the fronts of the rolls of tickets as the strips are withdrawn. The strips are yieldingly held against the front wall of their casing by tongues 26 of rubber carried by a wire frame 27 mounted on pivoted brackets 28. Springs 32 normally pull on the frame to hold the tongue against the strips, but the tongues may be held raised by clipping a hook 33 over the end of the frame 27. The strips, in front of the tongue 26, pass down channels in a stationary plate 9 on to the front portion of an arc-shaped movable plate 12 carried by side-members 18 supported on a shaft 19 mounted in elongated bearings 20 in the side-frames 10. The members 18 bear against cams 21 so that when turned on its axis the movable plate 12 is raised to a slight extent. Atjustable stops 22 limit the travel of the plate 12 to the length of one ticket, springs 25 or a weight returning the plate to its normal position. Thumbslots 16 are cut in the front end of the plate 9 and a casing 14 provided with an opening fitted with a glass slab 17 is fitted over it. In operation a strip is pressed against the movable plate 12 which is then swung outwards and released; the length of strip that has been withdrawn is torn-off against a raised ledge 24 on the front of the plate 12. To prevent tickets being withdrawn from the machine means is provided to lock the plate 12 against movement: bayonet slots are formed in the rear portion of the plate and are adapted to be engaged by pins 36 projecting from a transverse rod 35 that may be moved so that the pins rest in the longitudinal part of the slots, -in which position the machine may be operated,-or in the transverse part, the machine then being locked.
