Description

SPECIFICATION Cover for use with thermal binding machines The present invention relates to a cover for use with a thermal binding machine.
According to the present invention there is provided a cover for use with a thermal binding machine, the cover having a pair of planar portions spaced from one antoher by an intermediate portion of channel shaped cross-section, each planar portion being hingedly connected to the intermediate portion, the intermediate portion being coated along the bottom and sides of the channel with a meltable adhesive.
Reference is now made to the sole accompanying drawing which is a schematic end view showing the positioning of a cover according to the present invention in a thermal binding machine.
Referring to the sole figure a cover 20 according to the present invention is shown containing loose-leaf papers 21. The cover has a pair of planar portions 20a, 20b, spaced by an intermediate portion 20c which is channel shaped in cross-section. The planar portions 20a, 20b are each hingedly connected to the portion 20c at fold lines 20e. A coating of meltable adhesive 20f is provided which covers the bottom and at least part of the sides of the channel.
In use the cover 20 and loose sheets 21 are placed in a thermal binding machine to sit on a hot plate 18 in order to melt the adhesive 20f. After cooling of the adhesive the loose sheets 21 are secured in position within the cover.
1. A cover for use with a thermal binding machine, the cover having a pair of planar portions spaced from one another by an intermediate portion of channel shaped cross-section, each planar portion being hingedly connected to the intermediate portion, the intermediate portion being coated along the bottom and sides of the channel with a meltable adhesive.
2. A cover according to Claim 1,whereinthe intermediate portion is provided with two fold lines so as to define in cross-section a 'D' shape.
3. A cover, for use with a thermal binding machine, substantially as described and as illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
