Stands or supports for vehicles.-Comprises a particular construction of stand for motor vehicles of the type in which the vehicle is run up inclined runways which overbalance into a horizontal position when the bar is in position thereon. In the present construction a substantially rectangular frame, pivoting about one corner, is fitted with rollers so that the complete apparatus can be moved about when loaded. In the illustrated form the unloaded stand takes up an inclined position with the outer ends of the dotted rails b resting on the ground. By winding in a cord m which passes from the vehicle round a pulley at the remote end of the appliance and back to the winch l, the vehicle is drawn up the inclined track until the appliance overbalances and rolls on the curved surface f<1> into the position illustrated. Pins e are then removed to allow the rails b to drop and form props as shown, the upper ends b<1> forming stops to prevent the vehicle running off. A hooked bar n prevents accidental displacement of the props. The appliance is fitted with rollers h for portabilitv when loaded, and is furnished also with detachable diagonal cross braces at its ends.
