Abstract

A fastener comprising a primary and a secondary fastening member (1, 2) is arranged so that the primary fastening member (1) has a hook (5) at the end where the fastening member is arranged to be connected to a bracelet or necklace or similar article, said hook cooperating with a recess (6) in the secondary fastening member (2), said recess (6) being positioned at the end of the secondary fastening member (2) that faces away from the connection of said fastening member to the article. Further, the secondary fastening member (2) has adjacent said connection a resilient means (10) which serves to cooperate with and retain the free end of the primary fastening member (1) when said hook (5) is engaged with said recess (6) so that the two fastening members are securely engaged with each other by a simple operation.
