Abstract
In a circular loom (1), woven tubular fabric (3) is guided over a roller (12) in a flattened condition after having been provided with side pleats by external folding plates and internal spreaders (17). To introduce a lay flat tubular liner (11) in the fabric tube (3) during weaving and flattening, a flat frame (7) is supported within in the fabric tube (3). The frame (7) supports the spreaders (17) and has side members extending into the outer edges of the fabric tube (3) and guide rods (6) over which the liner (11) is fed in zig-zag formation by double belt conveyors. The frame (7) ensures that outer folded edges of the tubular liner (11) lie precisely in outer folded edges of the flattened fabric tube (3). <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Apparatus for inserting a tubular web in a circular-woven tube
The invention relates to an apparatus for inserting a tubular web in a circular-woven tube during weaving and flattening in a circular loom.
According to a method known from DE-OS 27 21 771 and suggested in prior Patent
Application No. 7933809, internal tubular webs withdrawn from supply reels are inserted in circular-woven tubes by weaving around them a circular fabric of stretched plastics tapes. Since sacks are made for example in the manner described in prior Patent
Application No. 7933809 starting with the flattened circular-woven tubular web having the inserted inner tubular web, it is necessary to insert the inner tubular web in the tubular woven fabric in such a way that the outer folded edges of the inner tubular web lie precisely in the folded edges of the outer tubular web of fabric.
It is therefore the problem of the invention to provide an apparatus with which inner tubular webs with and without side pleats can be precisely inserted during weaving and flattening of the circular-woven tube, possibly whilst side pleats are also being formed therein.
According to the invention, this problem is solved in an apparatus of the aforementioned kind in that substantially in the flattening plane of the woven tube defined by the first take-off or direction-changing roller there is provided a flat frame comprising guide rods which are secured therein transversely to the tube axis and over which a tubular web withdrawn from a supply reel is led in zig-zag formation, and that the sides of the frame each lead into one of the side pleats being formed at both sides of the woven tube in the region of the outer edges.By means of the apparatus according to the invention, one ensures that, at the same time as the circularwoven tube is taken off and flattened, the inner tubular web is also withdrawn from a supply reel and inserted in a correct position in the circular-woven tube during flattening, thereby facilitating further processing of the thus prepared circular-woven tube without disruption to form sacks.
According to a preferred embodiment, double belt conveyors are provided which withdraw the tubular web from the supply reel, clamp the web between each other, have upper direction-changing or drive rollers defining an inlet nip at both sides of the tubular web and lower direction-changing rollers at the bottom of the frame, and the runs of which that clamp the tubular web run over the guide rods in zig-zag formation. This construction ensures that, for example, Z-folds formed in the inner tube can also be guided along.
Other advantageous constructions of the invention have been described in more detail in the subsidiary claims.
One example of the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing, wherein:- Figure 1 is a diagrammatic side elevation of the apparatus;
Figure 2 is a front elevation of the Fig. 1 apparatus with additional double belt conveyors which clamp the inner tubular web between each other;
Figures 3 to 5 are cross-sections through the flattened and side-pleated circular-woven tube with inserted inner tubular web, and
Figure 6 is a view corresponding to Fig. 1 showing the arrangement and drive for the double belt conveyors.
The circular loom 1 of conventional construction is only diagrammatically illustrated and is secured in the frame 2. The finished circular-woven tube is taken off downwardly over the weaving ring of the circular loom 1, laid into side pleats and wound into a supply reel (not shown) as a flattened circular-woven tubular web 4.
A carrier 5 secured to an upper transverse member of the frame 2 carries a frame 7.
Parallel horizontal guide rods 6 are secured to the parallel vertical members of the frame 7.
At its upper end, the frame 7 has a cross-bar 8 by which it is secured to the central carrier 5. Plummer blocks 10 secured to the upper transverse members of the frame 2 hold a supply reel 9 from which an inner tubular web 11 provided with side pleats is withdrawn and led in zig-zag formation over the guide rods 6.
The guide rods 6 are desirably convex. By means of this feeding device, the inner tubular web 11 is fed to the circular-woven tube in a taut and central condition.
To take off the flattened circular-woven tubular web 4 with the inner tubular web 11 forming an insert, there is a feed roller 1 2 which is followed by one or more guide rollers 13 to 15.
To enable the taken off circular-woven tube also to be provided with side pleats, side folding plates 1 6 secured to the machine frame 2 are pivotable against spring pressure.
Fabric spreaders consisting of levers 1 7 and secured to the frame 7 engage the outer folded edges of the circular-woven tube.
The inner tubular web 11 can be so inserted in the flattened circular-woven tubular web 4 that it lies parallel to a fabric tubular web 3.2 as is evident from Fig. 3. It can also be inserted in Z formation so that one side is disposed in the upper folded edge 3.1 and the other side in the opposite lower folded edge of the circular-woven tubular web, as is evident from Fig. 4.
If the circular-woven tubular web is pro vided with double side pleats, the inner tubular web 11 can also be symmetrically inserted in the central folded edges as is shown in Fig.
5.
To enable Z folds formed in the inner tubular web 11 also to be guided along, double belt conveyors 22, 23 and 22', 23' may be provided at both sides of the central frame 7.
The belts of these double belt conveyors run over drive rollers 18, 1 9 and 18', 19' which are arranged above the weaving ring 29 at both sides of the inner tubular web 11 to form an inlet nip, and also over directionchanging rollers 20, 21 and 20', 21' disposed at the lower end of the frame 7. The confronting runs 24, 25 of the double belt conveyors pass in zig-zag formation over the guide rods 6 and clamp the inner tubular web 11 between each other.
To drive the double belt conveyors, run driving or direction-changing roller 1 3 of the circular-woven tubular web 4 is provided with a sprocket engaging an endless chain 26 which drives the intermediate sprocket 27.
The intermediate sprocket 27 is connected by an endless chain 28 to sprockets which, in turn, are connected to the drive rollers 18, 1 9 and 18', 19'.
