Abstract

A ball is placed in an upstanding cylinder (D) and rests on an internal hoop (C). Beneath the ball, an impeller (A) is guided to move longitudinally of the cylinder (D) and is pivotally attached to one end of a lever (G) having a cushion (J) which is struck downwardly with a racquet so as to cause ejection of the ball. The ball may then be hit by the racquet towards a target comprising concentric hoops to which a net (4) is attached providing an outlet (3) corresponding to each hoop. <IMAGE>

Comment Ping a Ball is a game of skill. Depending on the ball rising vertically, the ball ejector ensures this. The game is especially useful for those unable to play tennis, ping pong, etc., and provides good solo practice for other games as its quick action, and sharpens the reflexes.
1. Apparatus for use in playing a ball game comprising a frame, a lever pivotally mounted on said frame for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis, ball guide means mounted on said frame, in a substantially vertical disposition, said lever having a part thereof extending into said ball guide means whereby said part moves longitudinally of said ball guide means upon pivotal movement of said lever.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said ball guide means comprises a tube having an open upper-end thereof.
3. Apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said tube has provided therein a longitudinally extending slot in the wall thereof through which said lever extends.
4. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein said lever part has attached thereto ball impelling means.
5. Apparatus according to claim 4 wherein said ball impelling means comprises a rod pivotally attached to said lever part.
6. Apparatus according to claim 5 wherein said ball guide means has longitudinally disposed ribs thereon adapted to guide said rod.
7. Apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said tube has a circumferential internal rib therein whereby said ball is supported within said tube.
8. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 7, comprising resilient means disposed within said ball guide means for supporting said lever part out of engagement with a ball located in said guide means.
9. Apparatus according to any ane of claims 1 to 8 comprising a block of resilient material attached to said lever, wherein said lever part and said block of resilient material are disposed on opposed sides of said lever pivot axis.
10. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 9, comprising a block of resilient material attached to said base and disposed to limit rotational motion of said lever beyond a position in which a ball in said guide means is contacted by said lever part.
